Please take a look at this very intriguing case study from the Work of the Future taskforce at #MIT. While it is a common narrative that rather than replacement, it is the human and digitization collaboration form the best solution, this study identifies some key themes that are indented a level more in detail - 1- Automating specific tasks rather than total functions are more effective and allow for better evaluations of the value-add 2- The workforce needs to get out of the comfort zone and start accepting and learning the use of technologies like AI for their functions 3- Themes like time saving, employee enablement, problem solving, need to be at the center of evaluating the value of digital transformations. REWIRED by McKinsey – part I This is a series of short review articles sharing the most important take-aways from REWIRED by McKinsey. I also add comments based on my personal experience as digital transformation leader since 2003.   McK defines ‘a digital and AI transformation as a process of developing organisational and technology-based capabilities that allow a company to continuously improve its customer experience and lower its unit costs and over time sustain a competitive advantage’.   This is the best definition I have come across to date. McK goes on outlining the 6 building blocks of a successful transformation:  - Alignment on value, i.e., business-led development of a digital roadmap Four delivery capabilities: - Building your talent bench - Adopting a new operating model - Technology - Embedding data everywhere - Change management, i.e., the keys to unlocking adoption and scaling   This structure is simple and brilliant as it simplifies the structure and sequencing of any transformation. Each building block is equally important.
