When faced with adversity, some of us tend to scatter and run away from the approaching danger, like cattle. Others, like buffalo, will assemble and run headfirst into the approaching storm. We are a herd (peer advisory group) where each member is heard, and where our questions get answered and our answers get questioned. Leading can be lonely, but it certainly doesn't have to be. How many of us wonder at times if we are making a difference? I learned an expression that helped me to continue with hope and purpose to work towards making a difference. 'Sometimes we plant seeds, sometimes we water them and sometimes we get to see them grow.' When I learned to focus more on the planting and watering, seeing them grow became more and more of a reality. That one thing you say, do or how you are an example to others by your care, compassion and integrity can be the seeds that are needed for someone to grow. #bethedifference #differencemakers #mentoringmatters

Do you know how many breeds there are? Emma Milne makes a good point when she says that all breeds are a manmade concept. We have created all the (350ish) breeds that exist, all from one species. The only difference is features and traits that we have selected based on how well that serves us, or what they look like. And a lot of these breeds have some very unhealthy features and traits. How far can a cow's sense of smell reach? Is it 500 feet? Maybe 1.5 miles? Or even 3 miles?    What if I told you, it's equivalent to the length of 110 football fields lined up end-to-end? NGOs occasionally introduce bees to rural communities as part of development initiatives. Recognizing the potential repercussions of Africanized bees on local ecosystems is paramount. Equally crucial is acknowledging the potential benefits of utilizing native bees, such as Meliponini in Mesoamerica, which may prove more advantageous and less environmentally detrimental.
