Minimizing liens and protecting future Medicare/ Medicaid benefits | Medicare Set Aside Problem Solver | Computer Software Exec | The Best is Yet to Come
Glad to be in Nashville today sharing a 2024 Medicare Secondary Payer update with the Society of Settlement Planners. Settlement planners should make sure to keep their atty clients on track so settlements are not delayed and benefits are not jeopardized. As you can see, even Broadway is not always chaotic. The same is true with Medicare compliance. Medicare chaos is a choice you make, not a destiny predetermined. #MedicareSecondaryPayer #MSP #Medicare #ConditionalPayments #MedicareSetAsides #MSAs #FutureMeds #MandatoryInsurerReporting #MIR

Village of Hempstead’s State Of The Village Address Mayor Waylyn Hobbs, Jr. recently held his 3rd State of the Village address at Kennedy Memorial Park. Some of the accomplishments the Mayor spoke about included: • Repaving roads, not just filling potholes and getting a commitment from the County to put over one million dollars aside to repave county roads in Hempstead. • Completion of a comprehensive study of the entire village water and sewer system. The village will be constructing a state of the art water treatment facility in order to provide quality and healthy drinking water to village residents. • The village has purchased two new fire trucks and ten vehicles for the Department of Public Works. • Replacing outdated parking meters. • Addressing the sewer infrastructure in downtown. • Securing $5 million dollars to assist qualified homeowner in the village to make repairs on such items as roofs. • Put in place initiatives that reduced crime in the village, making the village safer than ever. Future aspirations include updating parks and recreational facilities, continue downtown redevelopment to bring young people, healthcare workers, police officers, and such to the village, and increasing the amount of MTA police in the train station area. Mayor Hobbs announced he will be seeking reelection in 2025, noting, “I’m not about enabling people. I’m about empowering people. More challenges exist, but by working together we can overcome every challenge we face.” Click here to view entire State of the Village. https://lnkd.in/eQqaW7QD

Keynote Speaker Cultivating Wellness, Mental Health and Resilience through a Vicarious Trauma-Informed Approach
If you are a leader, are you setting the gold standard? Leadership that ardently champions the mental well-being of its officers sets the gold standard. By fostering an environment steeped in care and understanding, officers are encouraged to share, discuss, and prioritize their emotional health. Providing officers with robust mental health education is transformative. It not only sharpens their awareness of personal challenges but also cultivates a culture where mutual support thrives, creating a resilient and cohesive force. What I appreciated Chief Joe Fox (ret), mentioning in Living Blue, is, “Leaders must openly talk to their officers about mental wellness and proactively provide resources to manage traumatic exposures, even before they occur. Until we can fully acknowledge that we have a growing crisis in our profession, we will never change the culture or eliminate the stigma that exists for seeking help. If we don’t take care of them, no one will.” When Jason M. Palamara and I engaged with law enforcement leaders while writing Living Blue, our central message underscored the vital importance of leaders conveying genuine care and concern for their officers. We advocated for a proactive approach to dismantling the prevailing stigma surrounding mental health within the force. #suicideprevention #lawenforcementtraining #compassionfatigue #vicarioustrauma
Never having the privilege of working directly for Chief Joseph Fox while with the New York City Police Department, I was fortunate enough to connect with him after we had both retired. Chief Fox is one of those humans that leaves everything he touches better than he found it. His name is met with adoration from anyone who hears it. His wisdom inside of Living Blue is a treasure Barbara Rubel, Compassion Fatigue Speaker and I are eager to share. Here is another leader who is not only improving our law enforcement culture but doing so long into his retirement. You can read more from Chief Fox on page 64 of Living Blue.
