Reflecting on the essence of gathering over a feast… The heart of this time of year transcends the tradition. It's about the universal desire to connect, share, and be part of something bigger. What truly captivates me about it is the way it seamlessly becomes an avenue for reunions, a time when people gather not just around tables, but around shared stories and experiences. It's a moment where the hustle of the year pauses, allowing everyone to catch up, to see how the children, now a year older, interact and friends & extended family form bonds that might last a lifetime. The tradition of each person bringing a dish is symbolic; it's more than just about food. It represents individual contributions to a collective whole, a metaphor for how each person adds value to the family tapestry, whether they are bound by blood or the heart. This act of sharing, of contributing, speaks to a deeper truth about our interconnectedness. Moreover, it challenges the conventional definition of family. It reinforces the idea that family extends beyond genetic ties, embracing the notion that we can find familial bonds in the most unexpected places and people. It's a reminder that everyone has a place at the table, a space to be welcomed and to belong. #ThanksgivingReflections #FamilyBeyondBlood #CommunityTable #SharedStories #ThanksgivingJoy Recruiting for: Lifestyle, Income and Impact. #education #energy #respect #networking #community #teambuilding #workhardplayhard #giveback Retention of: Positive Energy, Service, Team-Oriented, Discipline, and Respect of Communication & Trust. In my journey advocating for positive change within our communities, I've come to deeply understand and appreciate the profound impact of empathy. I've witnessed firsthand how empathy serves as the key to unlocking transformative shifts in our society. It's not just about understanding others' perspectives; it's about truly connecting with their experiences, emotions, and struggles on a fundamental level. Through my experiences and interactions, I've seen how empathy has the remarkable ability to dissolve barriers, nurture connections, and inspire collective action. It's about walking in someone else's shoes, seeing the world through their eyes, and recognizing our shared humanity. Empathy allows us to build bridges of understanding, cultivate compassion, and foster a sense of belonging within our communities. As I continue on this path of advocacy and community engagement, I remain committed to cultivating empathy in all aspects of my work. Whether it's listening to someone's story, offering support, or advocating for change, I strive to approach every interaction with empathy and compassion. Because I believe that by embracing empathy, we can not only address the challenges facing our communities but also create a more just, equitable, and compassionate world for us all.

Leaving the Construction Industry Better than I found it🔥By Building a community of Intentional leaders😎
Some of us are hyper competitive. Learning, growing, and building the life we want is the ultimate compulsion. All good things, but there is a difference between achievement and fulfillment. In Jesse-land achievement is all about the trophies, promotions, and bonuses: translation achievement is all about me. fulfillment is about sharing making gifts and talents in service to others. This mental model is how I broke the "first to arrive and last to leave" mindset. Because who cares if I get there before everyone else, if my efforts arent contributing to significant impact. who cares if I work all the hours, no one gets perfect attendance ribbons anymore. The #NoBStribe is a #community filled with professionals that are on the path to serve others and leave this world better than they found it. You are invited to come join us this Saturday on No BS with Jen & Jess at 8am Central. #construction #lifelessons #relationships #DEMOthedivide #serveothers

The art of Giving The art of giving is a profound practice that transcends mere material exchange. It involves sharing kindness, compassion, and resources with an open heart. True giving is selfless, driven by a desire to make a positive impact. Whether it's a small gesture or a grand act, giving nurtures relationships, fosters empathy, and builds a sense of community. It's not just about the gift itself, but the intention behind it. Giving can be a source of joy, for both the giver and the recipient. It's an expression of our humanity, connecting us in a world that often emphasizes individualism. Embracing the art of giving enriches our lives and contributes to a more harmonious and caring society.

A heartfelt thank you to My HR Pros, Fort Smith Regional Alliance, and City of Van Buren, Arkansas for supporting my participation in Community Development Institute (CDI) Central this week! I wanted to share 10 of the most impactful things I learned in Year 1: 1. A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader. A great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves! 2. People don’t want to work where they don’t want to live. 3. Everyone has a voice and everyone has a role in their community. 4. Collaborative problem solving + respectful dialogue + diversity of opinion = transformative change 5. Data gives your story strength. 6. Your downtown is what your community thinks of itself. 7. 3 critical, often missed steps in volunteer management: increase responsibilities and growth opportunities, recognition and celebration, and exiting volunteers gracefully. 8. If my community is above average I can expect to live above the average lifespan. 9. Every leader needs to know 5 good things about their community. 10. What can you repurpose in your community to give you an advantage? Our keynote speaker was from the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute! She shared that moving to Petit Jean was the sunrise of Rockefeller’s dreams. I relate to that so much! I strongly encourage every community leader to consider participating in CDI. If you have any questions about the nationwide program, please let me know!
