There has been a significant paradigm shift towards minimally invasive and robotic techniques within the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Therefore training in minimally invasive surgery is important for the future of our specialty. The primary objective of this annual hands-on course is to introduce our young surgeons to the state-of-the-art minimally invasive, robotic and interventional techniques utilizing the human cadaver model. #training #heart #surgeons #minimally invasive #robotic surgery https://lnkd.in/gGhs3sDd

Grateful for the inspiring and insightful EACTS - European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery webinar series hosted this week. I recommend the EACTS Next Generation Course and Case Corner series for useful and inspiring informations. (check EACTS website and stay tuned for the next sessions). The CABG case presented this week was complex and challenging, a perfect fit for a broad base of knowledge. It was a great opportunity to learn and network with young doctors inspired by the same subject: Cardiovascular Surgery. #EACTS #CTS #CVS #cardiacsurgery

Excited to share our publication in the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery on the topic "Role of Surgical Simulation on Self-Reported Confidence Level on Cardiothoracic Surgical Trainees." A huge thank you to shahrul amry hashim for his support. We used self-designed minimally invasive valve surgery simulation tools to train cardiothoracic surgical trainees and consultants, assessing their confidence levels before and after the training. Our results indicate that cardiac surgery training based on MIS simulation tools significantly improves the self-confidence of both trainees and consultants. Evolution of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery: From Total Endoscopic to Close-Chest Robotic Techniques This paper discusses the evolution of minimally invasive cardiac surgery, specifically focusing on the transition from total endoscopic procedures to close-chest robotic techniques. Drawing from our experience, we have observed that patients undergoing robotic cardiac surgery experience faster recovery, reduced blood loss, and less post-operative pain. The advancements in robotic technology are expected to provide new platforms in the coming years, offering significant advantages for cardiac surgery over traditional endoscopic techniques, similar to the advancements seen in other surgical specialties. #Minimallyinvasivecardiacsurgery, #Totalendoscopic, #Closechestrobotic, #Patientrecovery, #Bloodloss,#Painmanagement, #Robotictechnology, #Surgicaladvancements UMICS - Unit for Minimal Invasive Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery
