Urgent Appeal: Help Us Finalize Our Move! We're transitioning to our new Red Feather Lakes home but need your help to close out our old site in Rist Canyon. We need to remove old fencing — a critical project that requires professional expertise. This project involves dismantling and recycling 13,000 linear feet of fencing and dig guard, weighing over 50 tons. Completing this will save us $2,000 in monthly rent and allow us to focus on our new home and the care of our animals. Bids for this project were originally up to $250,000. We've secured a contractor for $65,000, but we still need to raise these funds urgently. Since Friday, we've raised more than $11,000 towards this goal. No donation is too big or too small to make a difference. Your support will help us raise the $65,000 needed to finalize our move and ensure our resources go towards caring for our animals. Brooke helps to improve the lives of working horses (and donkeys and mules!) in many ways. From training vets to fight disease and treat illnesses and injuries, training farriers to provide quality hoof care, and teaching owners about nutritional fodder and the importance of ensuring their animal has plenty of water, rest and shade. All of these acts combined drastically improve the living conditions and health of horses in the low-income regions where Brooke has projects. However, our work would not be possible without the generous donations from our followers and supporters 🧡 👥 In the US, today is #NationalHelpAHorseDay so we thought we would share how you can get involved and help a horse today 🐎 🔸 You can make a one-off donation, or give monthly 🔸 You can leave a gift to Brooke in your Will We understand that some may not be able to afford donations right now, so here are some other ways that you can help horses: 🔸 For the price of a postage stamp you can recycle your old/unwanted jewellery, bank notes and used stamps and they will be used to raise much needed funds for Brooke 🔸 Did you know you can recycle your car and donate to Brooke at the same time? Using Giveacar you can arrange for your old car to be collected for free from your home and it will be auctioned or scrapped with the proceeds donated to Brooke 🔸 You can recycle your used inkjet cartridges through the Recycling Factory and they will donate up to £3.50 to Brooke There are also many ways you can support Brooke for free. ❤️❤️ A good news update ❤️❤️ Remember our gingerbread houses….??!! There is something I’m really good at 💡 IDEAS 💡 This was my idea, stood looking at them All on the table and pondering what to do with them all, it just popped out of my mouth Mat Burke made it happen I have been asked many times in varying situations including interviews ‘what are you really good at?’ I’m really good at ideas But it always feels like that’s a really lame answer, even though it’s the truth I have ADHD (diagnosed at 43) My brain works at 100 miles an hour It is full of ideas Over the years I have become more confident to share them, at the risk of sometimes not being taken seriously There isn’t always room for creativity on a team. There is room for people who follow processes, who can write plans and put things neatly in boxes, but not always people who take the lid off the box and let a whole load of crazy escape I am that girl The lid will come off In less than 5 minutes this went from an idea to a plan - that’s what I do There was some effort and logistical challenge moving them carefully to their destination, and there was Ofcourse the willingness of the team at the hospice to take delivery of a gingerbread world But our delivery team in store rose to the challenge and packed them carefully, and the hospice embraced the random phone call from me connecting them with the store via a contact I had made only a few weeks earlier (Caroline Peach)when I served their head of retail on my till; as any good fundraiser can do in less than 5 minutes I got a background story and connected on Linked in, the rest is history ☺️ Share the idea Take the lid off the box Ask the questions Embrace your curiosity You NEVER know where it will take you Or when it will help to transport a gingerbread village ❤️ #fundraising #networks #connection #engagement #curiosity #logistics #community #tesco #communication #redundancy #neurodiversity #adhd #neurodiversityatwork

"Help Give Vega a New Lease on Life: A small, efficient charity, over the past two decades, Historic vessel Vega, has delivered tons of donated supplies to remote island communities, reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates, improving healthcare, and helping children advance their education. We volunteer with Vega, and our budgets are microscopic. However, Vega now urgently needs a refit to continue her work. On April 22, Vega is scheduled to undergo several repairs, including changing quite a few planks, replacing faulty equipment, and other structural projects necessary to make her seaworthy again. The list of repairs is extensive. Although competent boat builders and raw materials are reasonably priced, this boatyard stint is beyond our capacity. The estimated cost is 32,000 USD. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I am so thankful for the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol, Inc. (the only high-school-run search and rescue team in the US) and what they do to support the state of Colorado. Check out the 9 News on NBC story about ARP helping with the recent snowstorm: https://lnkd.in/gRfvXU9v I was on the patrol for 4 years, and it changed my life. Now, I am a Board Member for ARP, and I could use your help. It takes about $58,000 a year to run the patrol from Insurance, vehicle maintenance, gear, training, etc. It is estimated that it would cost a government agency over $1M a year to duplicate the services donated by the Patrol to the community and Colorado. All 50+ high school students/ members and other board members are volunteers. There is never a charge for Search and Rescue service in CO – 24/7/365. ARP only survives through donations. Until December 31st, The Norin Foundation is going to match every monthly/ RECURRING donation of up to $20,000 in matching funds, which would make a significant impact on our patrol. Organizing the storage closet It was not necessary to buy extra bins for this client as what was there was perfectly adequate. With the client we started clearing the floor and then went around the room from one end to the other getting rid of unwanted items : 1. Trash 2. Donate 3. Keep. We then zoned the remaining items onto the shelves either in bins or placed on the shelves for easy reach. It can be daunting but with my help the task was done efficiently and in one go.
