This weekend we will be heading out across Somerset to collect over 2000 Christmas trees, raising money for St Margaret's Hospice Care and the vital work we do across the county. This event has grown and grown, and we couldn't do it without you. 🌻 We would like to thank everyone who will be sponsoring or supporting us for this amazing event; your help is priceless and we are so incredibly grateful. Here are some pictures of the people who made it possible last year. 💛 We look forward to seeing you all this weekend!

🧠 **Raising Awareness for Motor Neuron Disease (MND)** 🧠 Motor Neuron Disease (MND) is a progressive neurological condition that impacts the lives of thousands in our community, affecting motor neurons that control voluntary muscles. This debilitating disease leads to muscle weakness, paralysis, and eventually, difficulty in speaking, swallowing, and breathing. The effects of MND ripple through families and communities, creating emotional, physical, and financial challenges. Patients require comprehensive care and support, and caregivers often face immense pressure. Our community's resilience shines through in these trying times, but more awareness and support are crucial. We need to unite in supporting those affected by MND through fundraising, volunteering, and advocating for better healthcare resources. Together, we can drive research efforts towards finding a cure and provide much-needed hope and assistance to families battling this relentless disease. Join us in raising awareness and supporting our community members affected by MND. Every effort counts. 💙 #MND #MotorNeuronDisease #Healthcare #CommunitySupport #HopeForACure #Awareness

In today’s ever changing environment mental health and well being is so so important
Hi all, Last year I lost a close friend of mine from university. This weekend, I -along with 37 members of his friends and family- are participating in the Three Peaks Challenge, where we aim to climb the 3 three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon). We are raising money for the charity Papyrus, which aims to prevent young suicide. Suicide is tragically the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, with every year over 1800 young people taking their own lives. I have attached the link to Finn's sister, Kezia's Just Giving page. If you are looking to donate to a a good cause this week maybe this can be one that is worthy. I have also attached the link to the interview Finn's dad, Gordon, gave to the BBC earlier this week about Finn and the challenge: https://lnkd.in/enqJWSc7 Thank you for any donations! https://lnkd.in/e55mNcsi

Some humble pie. One of my weakest character flaws is taking things TOO personally, especially when it comes to support of what we do at Blood Origins. I don’t know of a CEO/Executive Director in the same position, but I receive emails every morning from our donor platform of folks cancelling their support. The last couple of days have been especially tough in that regard. Every cancellation I take personally - what did I do? What did we do wrong? Could we have done more? Am I working hard enough? We are a non-profit. Non-profits operate off of the generosity and belief of others in us. We need funds to continue to do what we do. All we ask for is “the cost of a cup of coffee” a month. Most decide to give more than that. If you want to support us you can find the link in our BIO. I would be humbled by it. If you think we can do things better DM us, I’ll personally answer it (again pretty unique to non-profits in our space). Know this … I love what I do. It’s incredibly meaningful. I am humbled and grateful to be in this position. Thank you to those of you that support us, and I’m thankful for those who did support us to get to this point. If you want to support us👇🏼: https://lnkd.in/eHPJanCe

Sundeep Talwar ImpactGuru Is this justice for someone who is poor? Is Impact Guru a platform to help people or to run a business? A donation of 25K was received, but Impact Guru's charges and fees amounted to 12K, meaning only about 50% of the funds reached those in need. My connections and I donated 20K, which resulted in 7K going to your platform as business revenue, thereby reducing the actual donation by 7K for those who truly need it. I hope you review this to ensure that humanity remains a priority. https://lnkd.in/gTVqDeA8

I have to share this post for two reasons. One is that I am a proud trustee for Humanimal Trust and really believe in One Medicine for humans and animals (watch the video - Noel explains it better). The second is that I know how many will appreciate how ridiculously cute Noel’s cat, Richochet, is! #onemedicine #humanimaltrust
Happy 10th Birthday Humanimal Trust!! Today, 6th May, we are celebrating our 10th birthday, the day our charity was founded by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick back in 2014. This day is now known as One Medicine Day. We want to thank each and every one of you for your support and dedication for the charity. You are all amazing! Without you we simply would not be here. Thank you from everyone here at Humanimal Trust.

If you can, pause a moment and open the maps app on your phone. Take note of where you are right now - your physical location. Draw an imaginery circle at a distance of 14km away, and now look at what exists between here and there in each direction. How many people in this area need help and support? How many can you help? Not everyone, but at least someone. Now take a moment to think of where you're at in life. What's just ahead? And behind? Either side of you? How many people in your world right now that need some form of help? Again, you can't help everyone - but at least someone. What little can you contribute to those in need. On 11 August City2Surf gives you the opportunity to support a wide variety of charities. It's a 14km walk/run, and it will raise thousands of dollars, each one intended to benefit people who need your help. I've set myself a modest target to raise $200 for the SAN Foundation's cardiac services. If you haven't contributed through another charity yet, why not add your support today? Every dollar helps...

❤️❤️ A good news update ❤️❤️ Remember our gingerbread houses….??!! There is something I’m really good at 💡 IDEAS 💡 This was my idea, stood looking at them All on the table and pondering what to do with them all, it just popped out of my mouth Mat Burke made it happen I have been asked many times in varying situations including interviews ‘what are you really good at?’ I’m really good at ideas But it always feels like that’s a really lame answer, even though it’s the truth I have ADHD (diagnosed at 43) My brain works at 100 miles an hour It is full of ideas Over the years I have become more confident to share them, at the risk of sometimes not being taken seriously There isn’t always room for creativity on a team. There is room for people who follow processes, who can write plans and put things neatly in boxes, but not always people who take the lid off the box and let a whole load of crazy escape I am that girl The lid will come off In less than 5 minutes this went from an idea to a plan - that’s what I do There was some effort and logistical challenge moving them carefully to their destination, and there was Ofcourse the willingness of the team at the hospice to take delivery of a gingerbread world But our delivery team in store rose to the challenge and packed them carefully, and the hospice embraced the random phone call from me connecting them with the store via a contact I had made only a few weeks earlier (Caroline Peach)when I served their head of retail on my till; as any good fundraiser can do in less than 5 minutes I got a background story and connected on Linked in, the rest is history ☺️ Share the idea Take the lid off the box Ask the questions Embrace your curiosity You NEVER know where it will take you Or when it will help to transport a gingerbread village ❤️ #fundraising #networks #connection #engagement #curiosity #logistics #community #tesco #communication #redundancy #neurodiversity #adhd #neurodiversityatwork
A big thank you to Tesco Wragby Road for generously donating their gingerbread houses to our Inpatient Unit 💛 They had a competition to decorate gingerbread houses which were then donated to our Nettleham Road Inpatient Unit on Christmas Eve. Thank you for your kindness this Christmas!

"Serving For Reason Living For A Purpose" Being compassionate, serene, civil, and noble is an art of life. Everyone of us live our life, but some really live a purposeful life. A purposeful living can help in enhancing the quality of our life. It takes lot of practice, self realization, self discipline, and self control. Try to focus on yourself first and see if you have an ego, hatred, jealousy and negativity. Start cleaning up the mess in your life and then slowly try to purify yourself to slowly start to enhance your life for a purpose. This teaches you to live in style for others. Caring, sharing, listening, helping, and also serving are the noble practices that we can adopt to support the community or society for a cause. It is ok to spend some of your valuable time in a day to help someone who is in a difficult situation. It is a form of charity that is much more valuable than donating money. Charity through money or donating is ok as long the money is not misused by others or compromised. Beneficiaries aling with the purpose should be served. In the case of charity through service, it's in your hands and the beneficiary is directly being helped or benefited from the service.
