Patients' surgical documentation is an important part of their whole journey, especially for their future care. In our centre, all patients that have surgery receive a detailed surgical report and multiple photos of before and after. At the post-op consultation, Dr Kyriakopoulos will see the patient in our clinic and provide them with photos from their surgery, talking them through what was done. We believe it is within patients rights to receive proper documentation of their surgery, including footage of their surgery. Having photos of surgery, the patient will be able to see exactly where their endometriosis was and how it is after it was removed. They can also send them to their current treating doctor(s), or their previous doctor(s), who might have told them that there is nothing wrong with them. For us, providing patients with surgical photos is a way of building trust and, at the same time, to show that we are confident in our team's surgical skills and experience with endometriosis. Proper, detailed surgical documentation including images can serve as educational material for many people, for us as a team, for the patient, their doctors and other healthcare staff. Is like a library that can be accessed whenever it's needed. #endometriosis #endometriosisgreece #ace #athenscentreforendometriosis #athensendometriosiscentre #drdinos

Integrating EVO ICL™ into his practice has transformed patient care and enhanced his practice. Brett Mueller, D.O., Ph.D., shares with Healio benefits that EVO brings to both doctors and patients. “When I’m looking at my patients and doing a refractive evaluation, I’m not only thinking laser vision correction in terms of LASIK, SMILE or PRK, but I’m also thinking lens-based surgery,” Mueller said. “I’m thinking about EVO ICL and how I can utilize that to correct [/reduce] all the way from –3 D to –20 D and correcting up to 4 D of astigmatism” - Dr. Brett Mueller Visit EVO.STAAR.com to learn more. #STAAR #EVO #ophthalmology #ophthalmologist The EVO ICL lens is an Rx Only surgical implant that corrects distance vision for persons 21 -– 45 years of age. There are a lot of different titles, certifications & boards in medicine. It can be confusing. When it comes to getting a cosmetic procedure, choose a board certified plastic surgeon for your safety & the best results. Why? Many physicians practice outside their scope of education & training. It's not legal. Yet, plastic surgeons have specific & specialized training. ASPS makes it easy with it's Find A Surgeon tool.
Patient safety, ethical care and excellent outcomes are the Society's top priorities. ASPS Member Surgeons believe plastic surgery should only be provided by surgeons who are well-trained in the procedures they offer and understand how to recognize and appropriately treat any complications. Not all bone nibblers are created equal: The versatile Ferris-Smith-Cushing Rongeur Forceps The Ferris-Smith-Cushing Rongeur Forceps is a surgical workhorse, but did you know it comes in different versions? This long, slender instrument (typically around 180mm) helps surgeons meticulously remove small bone fragments during spinal surgery or biopsies. The key difference lies in the working tip, which comes in various widths: Standard: Ideal for general bone removal during spinal procedures. Narrow: Perfect for accessing tight spaces and removing delicate bone fragments. Wide: Effective for clearing larger bone chips or disc material. Beyond width variations, some versions also offer adjustable jaw angles (straight, up, or down) to enhance visibility and maneuverability in different surgical approaches. This adaptability makes the Ferris-Smith-Cushing Rongeur Forceps a valuable tool for tackling various bone removal tasks with precision and control. What other surgical instruments do you find particularly interesting in their design variations? Patient recovery does not revolve around a typical 9-5 schedule. Just because it's the weekend doesn't mean my job as a surgeon is finished. Sometimes, I need to go into the hospital to check in on patients who are recovering on the weekend. At Axis, our patients are like family. If we have a patient in the hospital recovering from surgery, we make sure to follow up with them and track their recovery around the clock! We're there no matter the date or time, checking in on the progress of our patients. Patient recovery is and has always been our main priority. #weekendrounds #spinesurgeon #patientrecovery
