Inclusion means recognizing that everyone brings their own unique story and needs to the workplace, and providing them with equal opportunities. Our #InspireInclusion series, which began on International Women's Day this year 💜, embodies this by highlighting the personal journeys of both women and men. ✨ This series emphasizes the importance of offering diverse work models tailored to individual needs. This time, we're featuring Leoni Ruhnow, who is just starting her professional journey. Read about Leoni's unique experiences here. 👇 🪜 Q: What have been your milestones in your life so far? L: "I was very excited as I chose to study "Packaging Technology and Sustainability" in Leipzig. Shortly before that, I was able to celebrate the promotion of my volleyball team to the regional league, which for me was the highlight of my long volleyball career so far. In 2023, I then had the opportunity to complete an internship in packaging technology at STABILO. I'm now writing my bachelor's thesis here. There and through my degree course, I have the opportunity to fully express my creativity and actively contribute to the promotion of sustainable packaging solutions." 📢 Q: What advice would you give your 15-year-old self? L: "Don't try to pretend. It's the moments when you show yourself authentically that will ultimately get you ahead." 📖 Q: What would be the title of your autobiography? L: "Crazy but determined through life: A Handbook for Elegantly Navigating Absolute Chaos." 🎨 Q: What is your source of inspiration? L: "Along the way, I've realized that everyday things have the greatest meaning in life. The joy of a carefree friendship, helping a stranger, sinking into a good book, laughing with a loved one, enjoying the sunset on the way home - all of these things serve as inspiration for me." #Inclusion #Diversity #WorkplaceCulture #PersonalJourneys #InspireInclusion

Happy International Women's Day!! I want to thank all of the amazing women who have been supportive of me in my career. There are many! I also want to acknowledge that women are still tearing down other women regularly, especially in the workplace. I've had awful experiences of women at work bullying me and putting me down. When women support one another and champion one another, we can achieve so much more than we already do. Let us all be the change we want to see in the world, ahem workplace! What does that look like? 1. Hire women and then mentor them and give them opportunities to thrive. DM me if you are looking for summer interns! 2. Support female founders by following their social accounts, engaging and BUYING their products! 3. Give your time to the women coming up after you. If you'd like to speak on a panel in front of the USC Business Cosmetics Club, DM me. 4. Make time for informational interviews and networking. Introduce women to other women who can be helpful to them! 5...what else? Let's start a conversation about WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN! #internationalwomensday2024 #womenempoweringwomen

As a woman in tech, I've faced my fair share of challenges. For the past 15+ years, I've been the lone female voice in many rooms. The only woman engineer, the only woman founder, the only woman panellist. Recently, we surveyed 600+ Product Managers to create a salary benchmark report. Only 15% of participants were women. When I tried to understand why such low representation, I realised 15% female participation was the best I had seen at good companies and well-organised conferences too! I see this with my daughter as well. She loves robotics but is often one of the only girls in her classes. I constantly hear it from my female friends, who struggle to get back to work because they don't have the support they need. Honestly, no country in this world has progressed without high female participation. But whenever this topic comes up, the instant reaction is to think of ways to enforce woman representation, almost like a quota system. IMO, that is non-productive in a merit-driven society. I believe the fundamental way to solve this problem is to help talented young women master the skills & provide wholesome mentorship to balance personal AND professional goals keeping our cultural fabric in mind. I'm thinking of launching a merit scholarship for women who want to break into tech, starting with product management. If you believe in the power of empowering women, please lend your support. Whether it's offering to mentor or simply spreading the word - every little bit helps. Leave a comment below and let me know how you'd like to get involved. I want to see what we can achieve together!

Does your company support diversity? The representation of women in tech is less than 3 in 10 people. In 2022, it was an estimated 27.6%. Its a good practice to hire a women as they will add innovation to companies by providing new insights and problem-solving solutions to male-dominated industries. By including more women in leadership roles, companies see growth as qualified female talent seeks out role models they aspire to be like. Collaborating with individuals of different genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and race leads to increased innovation and enhanced problem-solving. Here are 5 Ways to attract, engage and retain women in tech : - Foster an inclusive work culture. - Address the gender pay gap. - Advocate for representation at all levels. - Offer family-friendly work policies and benefits. - Invest in mentorships, internships and apprenticeships. In order to create a comfortable space for women as leadership ensure to Create a Safe Environment for Women to Speak Up. Focus on Inclusion, Not Just Diversity.Eliminate Double Standards and Unconscious Biases. Stop Asking About Family. Promote on Results. Can you count how many women work in your office?

Advocating for a #CultureOfEveryone Creating a space where every voice is heard, every culture is celebrated, and every individual is valued isn't just important—it's essential. To thrive, both as professionals and as people, we must cultivate an environment of acceptance, tolerance, and understanding. This is the bedrock of innovation, collaboration, and human connection. 🤝💡 🔄 I'm challenging you - yes, YOU, to join us in amplifying this essential message. Let's ensure that our work environment remains a beacon of hope, unity, and inclusiveness not only at IU Group but everywhere around the globe. Join us in paving the way towards a world that wholly embodies understanding, friendship, and a genuine sense of belonging for everyone. It’s not just about making a statement; it's about making a difference. 🌟 The only way to counteract the shadows of division is to shine together with an unwavering light of togetherness and compassion. 🕊️ Let's not be silent; let's be vocal and vivid about the principles that make us who we are. #ToleranceMatters #Unity #Inclusion #Diversity #StrengthInDiversity #BetterTogether #beyouatIU P.S.: While LinkedIn might traditionally be a platform for professional networking, I strongly believe that advocating for these fundamental values transcends personal, professional, and political realms. It is about the essence of our humanity and the core of a thriving company culture.

🚀 Confidence: We need to bring it! 🚀 Despite strides towards equality, women remain underrepresented in leadership and management roles across various sectors. Marcy Quinn Samet spoke to Authority Magazine about how we can increase women's engagement in leadership and management. In Marcy's words: "We need to be our own advocates. We need to go into fields not known as “woman’s fields”. Become leaders in tech and science. Influence new sectors and contribute to the world at large. The qualities we possess are what the world needs today: empathy, detail-oriented, and focused." Read the full interview 👉 https://lnkd.in/eCBsPYBA

I recently had the privilege of attending the Karren Brady's Women in Business & Tech Expo, and it left a lasting impact on me. The keynotes from remarkable women were filled with insights, and I’m walking away with so much - both professionally and personally ☺️ After two days of listening to inspiring female leaders, it reignited my motivation to keep learning, upskill, and always put my best foot forward. My Top 3 Takeaways 👏: Personal – Listening to Katie Piper’s story was incredibly moving. She reminded me that life can change in an instant, so it's essential to do something meaningful with your time. Her message about being courageous and unapologetically yourself was definitely a reminder I needed to hear. Professional – Dr Tracy Rea Chartered Fellow CIPD’s advice to "treat every job as an apprenticeship" was an eye-opener. It’s a refreshing perspective that emphasises lifelong learning. No one has all the answers, and it’s okay to not know everything - what’s important is to stay curious and never be afraid to ask questions - Also something I needed to be reminded of! Both – During the Pace Integration Panel, one of the most powerful insights was the shared belief that the unique traits women bring - like empathy and emotional intelligence - often perceived as less assertive, are actually critical to the workplace, success and real-life. These qualities drive morale and foster innovation within teams, ultimately leading to better outcomes in business and tech. One of the event's standout aspects was the strong sense of community 🥰 There was no gatekeeping! The openness to share knowledge and experiences made it feel truly collaborative. Every woman genuinely wanted to see others succeed, promoting support and solidarity in the ‘Women in Business and Tech’ community. This spirit of mutual support reinforced the importance of lifting each other up, celebrating everyone's wins, and breaking down barriers together. I’m excited to take these lessons into my own journey and continue pushing forward in both my career and personal life. #WomenInTech #WomenEmpowerment #ContinuousLearning #CareerGrowth #FemaleLeaders

CELEBRATING WOMAN’S MONTH As we continue to celebrate strong women in the workplace this #WomensMonth, we asked Product Owner Lisa Adams to share her thoughts on the inspiration she’s drawn from others, overcoming challenges as a woman in IT, maintaining work-life balance and advice she has for the next generation. On my first day as a trainee developer at my first IT job, I met another trainee who profoundly impacted my life. This woman successfully transitioned from being a PA to the CIO, to becoming a software developer. Facing the challenges of a male-dominated industry head-on in the ‘90s, she never let anyone tell her she couldn't achieve her goals. Not only was she a huge inspiration to myself and others, she showed me kindness, introduced me to key people, helped me build my network and she constantly challenged my thinking. Her perseverance, humility, and commitment to growth, while empowering others, are qualities I carry with me to this day! As a woman in this industry, one of the biggest challenges I've faced came when I became a mother. One should never feel like you have to choose between growing your family and advancing a career, and balancing work demands with the demands of caring for young children can be really daunting. It takes courage to allow yourself to maintain a balance between work and personal life, to know when and where to draw the line. Learning how to do so is empowering and enables you to stay true to yourself, remain professional, and keep focusing on continuous improvement. My advice to young women entering the IT industry is to believe 'There is nothing you cannot do.’ Find the area within IT that truly sparks your interest and pursue it passionately. It's far more rewarding to do something you love and when you enjoy your work, you’ll naturally find ways to grow and excel.” Let's continue to support and celebrate the women around us, knowing that when we invest in a woman, we invest in the future! #WomensMonth #WomenInLeadership #DiversityAndInclusion #WomenEmpowerment #Leadership #PepkorPaymentsAndLending #PPL #Capfin #Tenacity
