While "edible foam" might bring to mind a creative dish at a trendy restaurant, it's more common than you think. Many foods and beverages like lattes, beer, and puffed snacks include edible foam to create structure, improve sensory properties, and reduce calories. It can even be used to improve the diets of those with dysphagia and at risk of choking on solid food. Ever wondered about the mysterious dates on your food packaging? Let's clear up the confusion between "Use-By" and "Best-Before" dates! 🤔📆 🔍 Use-By Date: This date is all about safety! Pay close attention to it, especially when dealing with perishable items like meats, dairy, and ready-to-eat foods. After the Use-By date has passed, the product may no longer be safe to consume. 🗓️ Best-Before Date: This date is more about quality than safety. It suggests the period during which the product is expected to be at its optimal taste and texture. After the Best-Before date, the item might still be safe to eat, but the flavor and quality may not be as top-notch. 💡 Pro Tip: Best-Before is more of a guideline for peak flavor, but it doesn't mean the product is automatically spoiled if consumed after this date.

There's a common misconception that losing fat means eating less. But that's not true. 🫣 Ever heard of volume eating? It's where you eat a lot of food with less calories. For example, let's take a meal like chicken & veg stir-fry. You have: - 200g cooked chicken breast - 150g broccoli - 100g mushrooms - 1 bell pepper - 4 cloves of garlic - ½ onion - Salt & pepper - Fajita seasoning - 15 sprays of 1 kcal cooking oil You'll get about 2 bowls of food. Which means it's a LOT of food to fit inside your stomach. But it's only 450 calories - The equivalent of a one-and-a-half Snickers bars! A ton of food, yet hardly any calories. Food volumising is an effective way to lose weight! Have you tried it before?

𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 🍔 A good basic mixture would be to use 50% chuck (the cheap and lean), 25% rib plate (the fatty parts) and 25% brisket (the fatty and beef flavors). 🥩 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞: Select your base protein. Beef is traditional, but you can explore other options like turkey, chicken, lamb, pork, or plant-based alternatives. 🥩 𝐅𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭: For beef burgers, an 80/20 ratio (80% lean meat, 20% fat) is ideal for juicy, flavorful burgers. A higher fat content will result in a juicier burger, while leaner meat may result in a drier patty. 🥩 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Use high-quality, fresh meat. If possible, grind your meat in-house to control the texture and ensure freshness. Stay tuned for more tips, recipes, and meal plans. Happy eating! 🌿✨ Evodine ™

Most food is processed to some degree, but not all processing is bad. Cooking is processing, and minimally processed foods like olive oil, yogurt, cheese, canned foods, and fermented foods are fine if you recognize the ingredients and understand the steps taken from farm to fork. It’s the type of processing that matters.

GREAT MENUS START HERE SERIES👨🍳 Check out our QUICK CHILI RECIPE. Interesting fact about chili peppers: Capsaicin, the compound that gives chili peppers their spicy heat, is not water-soluble. This is why drinking water after eating something spicy doesn't usually help to cool down your mouth. Instead, dairy products like milk or yogurt are more effective because they contain casein, a protein that binds to capsaicin and helps to wash it away. 👨🍳 . Here at Food Supply we offer a menu analysis. We’ve got the tools to help you succeed on our Great Menus Start Here tab : https://lnkd.in/ebSmuE-i...

10 Foods You Should Eat Everyday The Daily Dozen - often known as the "daily dozen" - are 12 items or food categories that, according to Dr. Greger, should be included on the menu every day if feasible. We just came across the notion again and used it as an occasion to put down our very own Daily Dozen. There are (fortunately) many similarities to Dr. Greger's recommendations, but there are also one or two unique elements. https://lnkd.in/g36D4C_3
