Last week you may have seen that Stackwell and United Way of Southeast Louisiana announced the launch of a multi-year strategic partnership. The RISE Investment Program builds on existing work we’ve done in New Orleans alongside our partners at the New Orleans Pelicans and our Power of Prosperity program with Entergy, which brings investment access and financial wellness education to students at Xavier University of Louisiana, Dillard University and Southern University at New Orleans. We are excited to continue our investment in the New Orleans community with the RISE Investment Program and our partners at the United Way of Southeast Louisiana. Today, we and United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA) are excited to announce the launch of a multi-year strategic partnership: the RISE (Reaching Investment Success for Everyone) Investment Program. The program grants $25,000 in seed investing funding to the heads of ALICE households participating in UWSELA's financial capability programming. ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households earn above the federal poverty level but still cannot afford the basic cost of living. Participants will be recruited from UWSELA's Moving Families Forward program, made possible by the Siemer Institute and other donors. UWSELA and its MacKenzie Scott funds will cover the cost of the pilot. We are seeking additional fiscal sponsors to continue the project into 2026 and beyond. At Stackwell, we believe that groundbreaking work requires being on the ground. We are excited to share this partnership news with our community today. This is an example of Stackwell living up to our values and showing up for our growing community. Link to the press release and information about the Moving Families Forward program will be found in the comments. #partnershipannouncement #financialwellness #financialempowermentforall

As you've heard, our team has brought on some incredible talent to help us close the racial wealth gap and unlock financial empowerment for Black and diverse audiences. We're excited to welcome Jamie Ciocon as our Director of Program Operations and Delivery. In her role, she oversees the success of our programs, driving real impact for our partners and supporting the individuals who participate in our programs on their journey to financial wellness. Jamie shares why she joined the team: "My parents emigrated from the Philippines; I came face-to-face with stark social inequality at a young age during my visits there. I've spent my whole life thinking about how healthy habits around wealth-building can unlock opportunity and I'm excited to be part of Stackwell's mission to empower people financially and tackle the racial wealth gap in a meaningful way." Welcome to the team, Jamie! #newhire #employeespotlight #stackwellteam

Last week, team members Jamie Ciocon, Chase Burton, Natalie Cantave, Grace W., and Ashaney Ewen had the opportunity to meet in person and collaborate for the day in New York City! Fun fact: it was Chase's first time in the Big Apple. Even though we are a small remote team, we value the chances to work together toward our goals and enjoy some quality in-person time. Subscribe to our monthly newsletter, The Stack Up, for updates on the team and what's on the docket this fall. Link will be in the comments. #stackwellteam #employeeculture #teamoffsite

Black Business Month (celebrated in August) was founded in 2004 due to a partnership between Frederick E. Jordan and John William Templeton. They were focused on driving a policy agenda that would empower more Black business owners and increase their access to capital based on their lived experiences as Black entrepreneurs. At Stackwell, we are focused on ownership, wealth and freedom. Owning businesses is one way to build wealth in this country; another is owning investable assets. Our team is focused on creating new pathways to ownership for Stackers in our community. In honor of Black Business Month, we shared ways to support Black-owned businesses in The Stack Up (our monthly newsletter). Subscribe to our newsletter to follow our content on how ownership of assets can help you accumulate wealth. Link to subscribe will be in the comments. #BlackBusinessMonth #BuildBlackWealth

Our team is doubling down on efforts to improve the app and provide financial education content to enhance your investing journey. That's why we recently brought on Dr. Larysa Nadolny as our Head of Learning. Prior to Stackwell, Larysa worked in industry and academic roles, focusing on learning sciences and human-computer interaction. Larysa earned her B.S from Virginia Tech, a M.A.T in Science Education from Boston University, and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware. Larysa shared with us her reason for joining the Stackwell team: "The mission really spoke to me — helping people, especially in underserved communities, take control of their financial wellness. I was drawn to how they combine innovation with a focus on education, making financial empowerment accessible to everyone. I wanted to be part of a team that's making a real difference and helping create a more financially equal future for all." Welcome Larysa! #newhire #stackwellteam #employeespotlight
