We had a brilliant day out in London on Friday with a fantastic and well deserved three course lunch at the Oxo Tower for some of our top achievers. It is always enjoyable to get out into the city and recognise some of those that have gone above and beyond in their work. #Team #Recognition #London #CompanyLunch #LunchClub #Achievement

The club will always be more important than the team… Hear me out. Let me give you some examples: - Ryan Reynolds & Wrexham - Gareth Southgate & England They have one key thing in common. Their commitment to a CLUB mentality. They’re just two examples of when managers not only made a team but transformed a CLUB. How? Because they identified the following: 1) That the club has longevity compared to a team 2) Opportunities to build a fundamental foundation The fact is, they made the entirety of the badge a priority, not just the first team. That’s how you create a great club, and the best team(s).

Senior Business Change Delivery Consultant with 15+ years’ experience in financial services | engaging leader | focused on business outcomes
I’ll be ready to support my team as England Rugby’s Summer campaign kicks off! I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the England rugby camp. After some shocking warm up games ahead of the World Cup they ended up coming away in 3rd place after defeating Argentina. Prior to that, the criticism was scathing, so I often wonder what it’s like when your worst days at work play out in front of the entire nation - can’t be easy. What I’d really like to understand is how they build team culture in a short space of time, how they maintain momentum and how they bounce back after defeat because I am certain there would be learnings for the world of change delivery. I worked in a hospital once and needed to improve capacity management. Now, I’m good at leading and motivating teams and most of the individuals were up for the challenge but one person was very negative. I had to persevere trying different techniques to bring her on the journey. My final attempt was to hold a brainstorming session in the Sensory Room, sat on beanbags surrounded by bubble lamps and a light show. The idea was that removing ourselves from the constraints of everyday work would open our creativity. It did to an extent but it was a significant and enduring challenge. Some of the answers were in other processes like in smoother discharge and some were accepted constraints beyond the remit of the hospital. The gloomy individual didn't alter much, perhaps she was jaded or just not a team player. Hmm, I wonder what Borthwick would do? #consulting #projectmanagement

For years now, I've been an avid follower of Football and the greatest club in the world, Real Madrid C.F. The main reason for this support is not the superstars that play for them but their ideology and strategic decisions that have led the club to such great heights. Real Madrid's recent 15th Champions League victory exemplifies a blend of strategic excellence, relentless hard work, and cohesive teamwork that can be mirrored in professional settings for success. Here are several ways their principles can be adapted: 1. Clear Vision and Goals: 1.1 Real Madrid: With 15 Champions League titles, Real Madrid's vision of being a dominant force in European football is evident. Their success is attributed to setting high goals each season. 1.2 Professional Setting: A study by Harvard Business Review found that employees who understand their company’s vision are 70% more engaged than those who don’t. Clearly communicated goals lead to better performance and higher employee satisfaction. 2. Strategic Planning: 2.1 Real Madrid: Real Madrid's strategic planning involves extensive match analysis, contributing to a 68.2% win rate in the Champions League over the past decade. 2.2 Professional Setting: According to a McKinsey survey, 70% of organizations that align their strategic planning with company goals achieve significant growth. Strategic planning ensures that every action is aligned with long-term objectives. 3. Talent Acquisition and Development: 3.1 Real Madrid: The club invests heavily in talent, spending over €300 million in transfers in recent years, with players like Jude Bellingham, Vini Jr, Camavinga etc. This investment correlates with their continuous top-tier performance. 3.2 Professional Setting: The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) states that companies with effective talent management strategies are 22% more likely to be industry leaders. Investing in talent attracts high performers and drives competitive advantage. 4. High Standards and Accountability: 4.1 Real Madrid: The club's high standards are reflected in their 36 La Liga titles. Players are held accountable for their performance, driving overall team excellence. 4.2 Professional Setting: According to Gallup, companies with high accountability cultures see a 41% decrease in absenteeism and a 17% increase in productivity. Accountability ensures that employees meet expectations and contribute to the company's success. Dynamic Chief Executive Officer 💡 Author of Best Seller "ULTIMATE STRENGTH TRIANGLE-Triad of Blissful Life 🌍
The cheers are fading, and the dust is settling, but the spirit of the Vinsys Premier League still thrives! As an avid cricket fan myself, I know the magic this sport holds. But the VPL's true power lies beyond the boundaries of the pitch. It's about forging unexpected bonds, igniting hidden talents, and fostering a genuine camaraderie. We saw colleagues break down departmental barriers, cheer loudly for teammates, and discover strengths they never knew they had. These bonds don't fade with the final whistle. They translate into improved communication, collaboration, and trust back in the office. Teams that play together work together, and that's the real win here. The VPL wasn't just another annual sporting event but an investment in our people, our greatest asset. So, let's raise a bat to the VPL and everything it signifies: The power of shared passion. The magic of teamwork. The unwavering spirit of a company that puts people first. Onwards, Vinsys team, onwards! #MAslam #Vinsys #TeamWork #Cricket #WellbeingAtWork #TeamBuilding

Those who know me well know my passion for English Football - in particular, my lifelong support of Liverpool F.C. This past weekend brought to a close the 8.5 year tenure of our beloved manager, who is leaving the club on an overwhelmingly positive high note. Some life-lessons learned from Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool F.C.'s now-ex Manager: 1. Connection and Togetherness: Forge genuine connections in any organization or community. When people feel supported and united, they can achieve remarkable things. 2. Embrace Big Occasions: Embrace challenges and relish significant moments. They provide opportunities for growth and memorable achievements. 3. Team Performance and Support: Surround yourself with capable teammates. Success often depends on collective effort and collaboration. 4. Realism and Fulfillment: Balance ambition with realism. Celebrate progress and find fulfillment even when outcomes don't match expectations. 5. Legacy and Farewell: Leave a positive legacy. Whether in sports, work, or personal life, strive to make a lasting impact. #LessonsLearned #Inspiration #LiverpoolFC
