How do you know my recruitment business/desk is going to succeed? I help experienced recruiters set up their own recruitment businesses here at Reed Franchise Partnerships. This brings a range of challenges. Even in the best cases, it can take a few months for placements to come through. So how do you know if someone is going to make it? I was at Liverpool v Chelsea yesterday. My run of not seeing Chelsea not win now runs to 15 games, but I left Anfield with, well, hope in my heart yesterday (if you can't beat 'em, join 'em). This young Chelsea side with yet another new coach is going to do well. How do I know this? Skills, knowledge, effort, attitude - that's how. There's skill in this team - a dip of the shoulder and a turn from Lavia; Madueke "rinsing" Robinson (as my Liverpool supporting mate has just put it). Palmer had a quiet game by his standards, but still took my breath away with one piece of skill. Knowledge - it's developing, but we clearly have a clever coach. Effort - I saw us lose 4-1 there last season, the effort put in yesterday was exponentially better. They worked hard. Attitude - it was there in abundance, from every challenge to the disappointment at the end. Can't fault the attitude. I look for the same things in a start-up recruitment business/new recruiter. Are they doing the right activities? Do they know the system/their market/the process? Do they work hard and are they motivated? Focus on those things and you'll be fine!

OK....keep reading!!! Client: A growing fitness studio faced a key challenge. After their General Manager was promoted (after 2 months) to Regional Manager, they needed to fill the GM role quickly to maintain momentum—and also recruit a new Sales Associate. 😱 The Problem: The General Manager’s primary responsibility was driving membership sales. The most curious sales people/athletes I've mentored were the ones "from the mud"...... Thats the thing, those who truly want it/NEED it bad enough go out and take it. They've already seen the bottom, they dont want to go back. They hustle hard and put in the work..... They are often the first ones to practice and the last ones to leave... They lift up the team in times of hardship.... Funny enough, they are also the ones that may seem unqualified if you judge them based on a resume.
