This post is especially meant for all the fellows and post graduates in IR …. Who wish to be heroic and find it difficult to accept defeat 😈 What matters first? Patient or our success ? Before putting my blade on any patient, I ask for help and say, "God make me do what's best for this patient.” This prayer gives me immense serenity to accept what cannot be done and a great courage to make a decision on when to stop. It should never be - “make me somehow successful and help me get the catheter across ! “ as I have noticed that sometimes our fear of failure never lets us give up and one might end up doing more harm to the patient As healthcare professionals, our ultimate goal is to provide the best care possible for our patients. But how do we define success in patient care? Is it getting our catheter across to difficult locations and feeling proud? Or is it having the courage to make a decision on when to stop and accept what cannot be done? I believe that the mindset of accepting failure and humility with success is the true meaning of success in patient care. It's important to understand that we need to do what's best for the patient, even if it means not getting the desired result with interventional radiology procedure. Sometimes, knowing when to stop is of utmost importance for the greatest good of the patient. Let's strive for success mindset that puts the patient first. #successmindset #healthcare #patientcomesfirst #interventionalradiology

In September I celebrated 1 year at Novartis and I couldn't have summarized my experience better than a repost by Viet Le. A few things I've learned along my journey: 1. Feeling seen: the ability to show up as an authentic leader and contributor at a workplace that values diversity, innovation, being unbossed will propel individuals to perform at peak and for a greater cause: patients. 2. Navigating adversity: how a workplace rallies around not just professional but personal adversities demonstrates their investment in you. Sometimes, it is not about solving complex problems at work but about how I can get creative to coordinate work travel while being a mom and making sure my 2 year old still gets fed, picked up from daycare, etc. It takes a village and you realize how important work can be a significant part of that. 3. Collaboration: when we can all come together and align on simple questions such as “what is our shared priority” and “how do we better the lives of patients”, magic happens! We get creative, we embrace challenges, we leverage data, and we look at ways to change human behavior to improve care quality and outcomes. I'm looking forward to learning and leaning in on my journey here at Novartis. Thank you to everyone that's contributed to my onboarding! #HIT #EHR #ValueBasedCare #DataAnalytics #PatientExperience #PrecisionMedicine

Folks, I cannot tell you the happiness this brings me to have four people of #AAPI backgrounds on a Teams call together. I introduce you to three highly accomplished colleagues: Clement H., Kathleen Nguyen, and Jenny McDonald, Ph.D. CMD. 1) We discussed ways to help me improve delivery of cardiovascular care to my Utah community. 2) How can we leverage existing medical records to identify "at-risk" patients and "Proactive" to reach out, educate, and offer optimal guideline/evidence-based care? 3) How do we leverage that same EMR to improve appropriate screening, to calculate the risk, e.g., lipid panels, family history documentation, blood pressure documentation, etc.? I am proud to be a US Citizen and the opportunities that living here should provide to all people. I am also proud of my heritage, grateful for my immigrant family coming here, and happy to see how diverse and truly "melting pot" my country is. #Seen #VietNameseAmerican #PhysicianAssociate #healthcare #HIT #EMR #cardiology #Proactive #VBC #ValueBasedCare Intermountain Health Utah Academy of Physician Assistants American Academy of Physician Associates Novartis Academy of Physician Associates In Cardiology
