💡 Ever wondered how T cells spot the difference between friendly and potentially harmful entities? The power of the recognition event lies in the unique T-cell receptor (TCR) sequence. TCRs act as a molecular key, searching for a perfect match on e.g. antigen presenting cells. Once they find this match, the T cell will engage. Each T cell in the body expresses a unique TCR and this uniqueness is determined by a specific sequence of amino acids that make up the TCR. The sequence is like a fingerprint for each T cell.
