Many OE electronic throttle bodies, like those on the Chrysler / Pentastar 2.0L and 2.4L, are known for their high failure rates. These ETBs utilize gear teeth that are prone to wearing prematurely because of poor geometry and soft material. Standard® engineers examined the OE ETBs, identified the weak points, and designed improvements to deliver an ETB that performs exactly as the vehicle manufacturer intended, with enhanced durability. Before the IMS became a well known issue, the rear main seal (RMS) was the biggest concern for Porsche Boxster and 996 owners. Some claim the heavy dual mass flywheel is to blame and offer rear main seal bearings to support the end of the crankshaft, but these mods are unnecessary. Porsche did revise the RMS to the most current PTFE seal which has proven itself to be reliable. If you have a car with chronic RMS leaks, it is more likely the engine was incorrectly machined and no matter what seal is used, it will continue to leak. The 9699-1 tool which is a go-no-go gauge should be used any and every time the rear main seal is leaking to make sure the leak is not because the engine was mis-machined which would require engine replacement to correct the issue, not just replacement of the rear main seal. https://lnkd.in/e9d3xxhY
