A sustained focus on safety is essential in the dynamic environment in which our company operates. At our terminals, a strong safety culture with people who are truly concerned about their own safety as well as the safety of their colleagues is indispensable. To raise even more awareness for this topic, we organize a safety week each year during which several activities take place at our locations. Today, we’re kicking off this yearly initiative to wish everyone a safe, healthy and productive year at the start of 2024. 🦺💪 ‘Valuing Lives’ is the theme for this year’s safety week as our collective goal is simple: every colleague should be able to return home to their loved ones after every shift without any injuries, no exception. For that reason, we urge all colleagues to look beyond taking responsibility for their personal safety. Every one must also look out for the safety of the people working alongside, whether they are colleagues, contractors or third-party personnel. 👷♂️👷♀️ #TeamPSA #AlwaysMoving #AlwaysAlongside #MPET #ConnectingTheWorld #HSS #Health #Safety #Security

🚧 It’s National Safe Work Month! While safety is a daily priority at HunterNet Career Connections, this month is a great chance to emphasise the importance of everyone getting home safe from work, every single day. This week, we’re focusing on the WHS Fundamentals. 🔍 Managing Risks with the Hierarchy of Controls: Elimination: The most effective control—remove the risk entirely. Substitution: Replace the risk with a lesser one—consider alternative approaches. Isolation: Implement isolation methods, like locks and tags. Engineering Controls: Use barriers, light sensors, and shut-downs to manage risks. Next, we have lower levels of protection: Administrative Controls: Policies, procedures, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and risk assessments. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Gloves, safety eyewear, hard hats, and steel-capped boots are your last line of defence. 💬 Consultation: Kick off each shift with team talks. Foster open communication and encourage input from everyone involved. Develop a Communication and Consultation Procedure. Engage all stakeholders when dealing with incidents, and hold briefings and debriefs. Let’s keep safety front and centre! 🦺✨ #SafetyisOurBusiness #SafeWorkMonth Safe Work Australia #HCC #HNCC #Apprentices #Trainees Renee Harris Peter Walls Nick Couper

Today I led a discussion in our Atlanta office celebrating ERM's Global Safety Week 2024 with an open dialogue revolving around this year's theme - Connected Safety. Some key take-aways included: 1) Safety can be physical and mental, 2) We all have Stop Work Authority, and 3) Safety shouldn't disappear when you get off work, but instead should remain with you whether in an office, on a jobsite, at the grocery store, or at home. #GSW24

Today, as we commemorate the first Global Safety Day at DP World, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of every individual across our operations. Safety is not just a priority—it is a core value that guides every decision we make and every action we take. Our operations depend on each one of us to remain vigilant, proactive, and responsible. Whether working at quay side, offices, or workshop, we must all work together to cultivate a culture of care, where safety is everyone’s responsibility. We encourage open dialogue, continuous learning, and adherence to the highest safety standards. On this day, let’s remind ourselves that every incident is preventable, and every step we take towards safety safeguards lives and futures. As Paco Pinzon says is the video, together, we can ensure that everyone returns home safely at the end of each day. Safety begins with you—today, tomorrow, and every day.
