The Russian wide-body long-range aircraft Il-96-400M made its first flight from Voronezh VASO. - The length of the fuselage of Il-96-400M was increased by 9.65 m compared to the Il-96-300 airliner. - It is designed for both commercial and freight transportation over distances of more than 8000 km. - The aircraft made use of the new Aviadvigatel PS-90A1 engines with a thrust of upto 17400 kgf. - Its being said that the aircraft will not go into production, and two completed aircraft will join a special "Russian" aviation group serving the Government. Denis Manturov, head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade : “The first and successful flight of the modernized Il-96-400M is a demonstration of the highest level of competence of domestic design offices and aircraft factories. The aircraft not only retained the high performance of the Il-96-300, but also received new operational and transport capabilities." #aircraft #testflight
