Late last month, Matheson Capital completed the acquisition of The Grove at Moundville, a 66-unit BTR community located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We were able to purchase this property at a phenomenal basis of just $215k / unit, and approximately $100 / SF. This marks Matheson Capital's first step into Alabama. Additionally, to complete this acquisition, we had to go from contract to close in just 36 days. I'm happy to share that yesterday, Trion Properties, Inc. acquired the Fieldstone Glen Apartments, a 216-unit multifamily property in suburban Atlanta. Our southeast acquisitions team, David Moghavem, Adrie Moses-Bailey, and Felipe Montes de Oca, did great work. Raising money and closing deals in this environment isn't for the faint of heart. Understandably, many who invested in multifamily in 2021 and 2022 are frustrated with the performance of their investments and are currently not allocating. I don't have a crystal ball (I wish I did), but given the value correction, now feels like a strong entry point into the market as we approach the next cycle.
