If you have been connected with me for a while, you'll know that two years ago I launched our first University Enterprise Fellowship scheme, providing support, resource, training and - crucially - protected time to our academics to develop a commercial application of their research.
I'm delighted to today announce the launch a second new scheme at University of Bristol: the Early Career Enterprise Fellowships. These, like the UEFs, provide time, resource, training and dedicated support, but this time for Early Career researchers, helping to support and develop people who are earlier in their career journeys and highly motivated to explore how their research can be applied in a commercial context.
We can't expect researchers to just "know" how to realise the commercial potential of their research, or to squeeze this activity in around their day job - proper dedicated time, support and resource are essential. Our first cohort of ECEFs represent a very broad range of disciplines, sectors and expertise, and I'm very excited to share a few words about them in the University's press release below.
UoB Connections: learn more about the UEFs, ECEFs, and explore whether you might find these schemes useful personally, at the upcoming Festival of Enterprise on 20th June. Read more and register on Develop.
External Connections: If you'd like to find out more about the work of our UEFs and ECEFs we do have a few external places available for the Festival - PM me if you're interested.
