Let’s get some educators involved with teaching the next generation of telecommunicators!
We are excited to announce the launch of the APCO Career Instructor Program (CIP), an innovative initiative designed to address the critical staffing shortages in emergency communication centers (ECCs) nationwide. CIP establishes a structured training pathway for state or locally certified educators to attend APCO’s core course, APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) 1, 7th Edition, at no cost. One of the most difficult things to do in a professional setting is to ask for more. It can sometimes feel uncomfortable, and is often self-perceived to be rude and ungrateful. But in reality, learning to ask for more, even as a first-level employee, is what gets you more. Want to read more? Visit our website in our contact information on our page!

Security Consultant | Author | Security Tech Geek | I help organizations improve security and peace of mind
Environmental services staff in your hospital are at risk for violence. Especially since they have to enter patient rooms- sometimes without a heads up about the patient's risk for violence. Everyone working in a hospital should have some violence awareness and de-escalation training. But you'd be surprised how many organizations don't mandate this training for everyone. Focusing training only on high-risk job groups leaves others out- like vulnerable key service staff. ✅ A tiered training approach based on the risk exposure of each group is needed. ✅ Tailor the training to the team’s operations and time constraints. ✅ Use ongoing micro-learning to keep skills fresh! PS- How are you approaching training for your staff? ♻️ Repost if you found this helpful!

✅When we talk about competency in education, we usually imagine high performing students equipped to become anything they dream to. 🤫Reading this job posting made me think we do not really have an idea of what core competencies and cross-functional are needed to be trained in secondary education for the job market, if this is what is required of a cleaning job.
