For all organisations reporting on their GHG emissions, if you are stating compliance with the GHG Protocol Standards, your Scope 2 emissions should be reported under both the location-based and market-based methods. However, only 1 out of 8 of the climate reports we reviewed reported under the market-based method. AHRAE and the International Code Council seek comments on their jointly developed document, Proposed ASHRAE/ICC Standard 240P—Quantification of Life Cycle Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions of Buildings. Standard 240P will provide a methodology to quantify embodied and operational GHG #emissions associated with #buildings and their sites.
