This time of year I think a lot about organizations that help others and how it can be difficult for them to get the word out to the general public. For example, https://lnkd.in/emms3Ghd Much is being done to raise awareness for our Veterans like the amazing National World War II museum in New Orleans. But there are far too many Americans that are simply unaware of foundations, museums, even the Library of Congress' efforts to preserve and tell Veterans' stories. The competition for the general public's attention is fierce. That's why I want to take the stories to where the general public is - to airports, schools, sporting events, concerts, fairs, tradeshows, visitor centers, and everywhere the public gathers. To quickly setup popup galleries with a dozen or more framed interactive displays. The goal? To generate awareness and tell Veterans' stores where people gather. Displays built or assembled in America to honor Americans that can quickly be moved from place to place. To be at events spreading awareness. Over the past two years I have finally completed the design for DiLithium interactive battery-powered displays that will be assembled in Massachusetts. I am currently finalizing ways to build them and to create popup galleries featuring Veterans' stories. I ask for your help, my LinkedIn connections, to help me connect with the organizations and people who think, as I do, that this is important. #VeteransStories #DirectToPublic #BatteryPoweredDisplays #MadeInUSA #DiLithium #Interactive #GoWherePeopleAre #NeverHurtsToAsk

The fourth and final post in our “Breathe the Mission into your Fundraising Event” Series. If you haven’t viewed our last three posts and videos, please go back and review to fully understand this specific post. We started with that special moment watching the children at Academy Prep Centers for Education Prep passionately saying that daily convocation in the school hall. We then saw the teachers, staff, and alumni leading the guests at the Gala event in reciting that convocation. And how about that impactful video that was shown before the Bid from the Heart (Paddle Raise)? Now it's GO time. Time to maximize the emotional impact and transform emotion into giving. At Auction Horizon, we believe everything that happens on the fundraising stage should be with the intent of maximizing fundraising potential and building giving momentum. The wording is intentional. Gestures are intentional. Energy is intentional. Emotion is intentional. We also know that time is of the essence when it comes to maximizing the money raised. For this reason, we work very closely with the client on timing and scripting. Adrian and Da’Shaun, the alumni featured in the impact video shared in yesterday’s post, were able to attend the event amid their busy schedules. The big question was: How do we incorporate these two gentlemen into the giving moment after the very impactful video without losing momentum and too much very precious fundraising time? The result can be seen in this video. Adrian and Da’Shaun walked onto that stage after the video and became part of the fundraising team. The positioning on stage was intentional. The scripting was intentional. They opened the door for Tarryn to introduce that first big level and maximize the power of the give at $25,000. The final part of breathing that Mission into the audience. The result? $125,000 raised on the first level of giving. A few hundred thousand dollars raised over the remaining levels. To sum it all up, many components go into a successful fundraising event, but MISSION is front and center. #breathethemissionintoyourevent #auctionhorizon #fundraising https://lnkd.in/eW4rarg5

This speaks volumes about how important investors are to helping organizations focus on their mission and how board leaders make an impact. The return on investment is high and allows the organization to strategically plan for a sustainable future. Congratulations to #Spelman College. As a nonprofit organization, we are always open to sharing how investing in CASA of HoCo can Change A Child's Story in foster care. #investinginpeople #TeamCASA #wegotnext
We are humbled, honored, and excited to be the recipient of a historic $100 million donation from philanthropist, businesswoman and longtime Spelman trustee Ronda Stryker and her husband William Johnston. Their gift is not only the largest in our history, it is the largest individual donation ever given to an HBCU, and larger than most gifts to higher educational institutions in America. We are delighted to share this news now, as 2024 marks 100 years since Spelman Baptist Seminary became Spelman College, a pivotal and meaningful time in our school’s history. $75 million of the $100 million will go to endowed student scholarships, helping Spelman College continue to attract the best and brightest students while reducing any financial barriers that prevent qualified students from enrolling or remaining enrolled. The remaining $25 million will be used to develop an academic focus on public policy and democracy, improve student housing, and provide flexible funding to meet critical strategic needs. 📣 Great opportunity so please read on... 🔥 🔥 I recently posted an announcement that I am boxing in a a charity event called Victory Gala. https://lnkd.in/eFn7jfW8 The event is designed to raise donations for the Michael Pinball Clemons Foundation as it continues its mission to provide marginalized and racialized youth with mentorship, education and employment. In order to raise funds in support of my effort, I am making an offer through my LinkedIn Network, that I hope many of you will see as a great deal. I spend a considerable amount of my work creating and delivering workshops on workplace and regulatory investigations. Obviously I receive financial compensation for these programs. My offer is that for a donation to this event on my behalf, equivalent to 65% of my normal fees, I will provide a one or two day program that is customized to your organization's needs. So here it is in an nut shell: ✅ You get the investigation training for your team ✅ You save 35% on the cost ✅ 100% of the money goes to support a great cause ✅ I am donating my time, so your fee goes directly to the foundation ✅ You get a charitable receipt for the donation (further savings) ✅ Everone wins!!! Please DM me if you are interested and I can share the details. The fee is a flat rate based on the length of the program, and you can have as many people attend as you wish. It can be done live (depending on where you are located) or online. I am offering this to five organizations only, on a first come first served basis. I believe anyone who has taken my courses will attest to their value, and with this deal the value is even greater! Thanks for reading this and as I said in my last post, I’m sure there are some people out there who would love to see me get punched in the face, so you can help them too! 😉

As many people look to give to charitable organizations this time of year, I ask you to consider giving to Free to Run, which operates in areas of conflict to support adolescent girls and young women to advance their leadership and wellness through #running. https://lnkd.in/eVnZ7Eqy
