In DTC, how big is too big (as a share of revenue)? If the past decade has shown us anything- and this article proves- it is not “one-size-fits-all” and should actually be considered a bespoke fit for your brand and operation. The best piece of advice (also supported in this article)- size of your share (of DTC versus physical retail) doesn’t matter as long as you are capturing the sale over other brands in your space. https://lnkd.in/erJyKeKH

DTC DOA? I loved this article from my friend Jon Bird about whether or not the direct-to-consumer (#DTC) bubble has burst. He is spot on that rising interest rates, concerns about profitability, and spiraling marketing costs (especially across social media platforms) all hurt DTC brands. However, I think there's another reason - too many were overly rigid about being solely a DTC offering when their mission should (generally) have been to expand into wholesale, thereby delivering much higher revenue and profitability. To ensure that their brand remains highly valued by the consumer *and* there is a reason for people to buy directly with them, DTCs could always release exclusive products or benefits only through their owned channels. Less 'DTC DOA' versus 'DTC do it differently'. https://lnkd.in/eyig4_2s
