My wife and I will be starting our move out west mid October living on the road visiting farms, agrihoods, walkable communities, and wilderness areas, which means 2 things: One, I am looking for a role with a company that needs someone: - Passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable on many facets of Regenerative ag and land management -Can manage a team -Is financially and socially mindful -Loves continuously learning new skill sets rapidly. -Loves sharing that knowledge in person and online -And most importantly is fully remote, as we will be over the road(thankfully I have Starlink and it has worked wonderfully for my wife working remote for the last year.) If that sounds like I might be a fit for you then you can find my resume on my profile. And secondly it means I will be moving on from this role in 5 weeks, so we are looking to fill my position here as Experiential Farm Manager. If you are: -Experienced with intensive rotational grazing, raising poultry, hogs, sheep, goats, and cattle in the Midwest context. -Experienced running an intensive 4 season market garden with greenhouse production for restaurant, market, and CSA sales -Experienced with High density orchard production of apples, peaches, and apricots -Experienced with blackberry (RCA trellised), raspberry and blueberry production. -Experienced with seasonal cut flower production. -Experienced and knowledgeable ag public speaker in person and on Social media. -Experienced/comfortable leading and training a crew of younger teammates getting their start in Ag. -Handy and quick learning like most of us farmers have to be with hand/power tools, machinery, electrical, and plumbing. -Knowledgeable on Integrated Pest Management across livestock, vegetable, bramble, and tree crop production. -Comfortable operating diverse machinery and equipment -Comfortable coordinating between multiple other department heads to seamlessly integrate the Agrotourism and supply chain aspects of this role with the rest of the garden center and DCA as a whole. -Hard working, not afraid to get dirty, lead tours, constantly be learning, and work long hours. Then you should apply down at the link below! And to be clear I only had a textbook and very basic hands on understanding of orchard, berry, and cut flower production when I started this role but thankfully had a great team to lean back on across the other departments at Colonial Gardens and learned so much over my year managing this farm. You would as well, so don’t let a couple small gaps in experience stop you from applying for this role if you are hardworking and have a strong desire for constantly learning and growing your skill set! https://lnkd.in/dwyHUJq7

I have a pile of new connections, so I figured what better time to re-introduce myself? Hello! I’m Megan Terry! 👋🏽 I’m a grazing specialist, producer advocate, developer of partnerships, team leader, relationship builder, and above all else, an all-around agriculture enthusiast! After hours, I’m also a ranch wife, stepmom to two little cowhands, and a total grass nerd! 😆 My work in this industry has changed quite drastically over the last few years. I began my career with NRCS in the middle of Covid, as an entry-level Soil Conservationist in Gainesville, TX. I then served as a District Conservationist, managing a field office in Clarendon, TX. Shortly thereafter, I landed my DREAM JOB as an Area Rangeland Management Specialist/Grazing Specialist, covering the High Plains region of Texas and serving as a liaison to the Texas Grazing Lands Coalition. That’s when the sparks started to fly for me! I found my passion in educating others about regenerative agriculture and adaptive management, hosting events and workshops to give folks the opportunity to get out on the landscape, ask questions, and see with their own eyes what was possible in their part of the world. My love is grass and cows, but my true passion is people - land stewards, to be exact! In my current role, I work for a non-profit organization with the goal of keeping working lands whole and healthy! My specific role positions me as a resource to producers, developing partnerships and collaborating broadly across the west to produce helpful tools and facilitate productive conversations around working lands & specific producer needs. If any of these things interest you, I’d love to connect! How can I support you, in your role? What ways can I be a better resource to you, or your organization? What should I know about your neck of the woods - after all, the producer is the one who knows their country best! 👏🏽 #workinglands #regenerativeag #adaptivemanagement #partnerships #collaboration #teamwork #leadership #beefcattle #agriculture #management #grazing #privatelands #publiclands

ICYMI - after billions of years shaping our planet, Nature Inc. joined LinkedIn this #EarthDay! Every second of every day, nature is working around us. It's employees are doing thankless tasks that keep ecosystems alive, cleaning the air we breathe, and moving pollen from one plant to another. How are you working for nature? Just as there are infinite ways nature works for us, we have infinite ways to work for nature ranging from small changes we could make at home and in the office to reduce energy and waste to bolder actions like buying an electric heat pump or changing jobs to focus those paid working hours on fighting climate change. And if you don't know where to start, take a few minutes to learn the basics about climate change and sustainability so that we can all keep nature from burning out literally and figuratively. Pretty cool campaign from Solitaire Townsend, Louise Wilson, and the team at Futerra and Futerra Solutions Union #climatechange #nature #sustainability

The Bornean Bay Cat is a rare and elusive animal, found only in the dense forests of Borneo. Its rarity and specialized habitat can be likened to a niche product in the market. Just as the Bornean Bay Cat has adapted to a specific environment, a niche product is designed to meet the unique needs of a specific target audience. In product management, positioning a product like the Bornean Bay Cat requires careful attention to detail. You need to understand the specific needs and preferences of your target market, much like understanding the habitat requirements of this elusive cat. The rarity of the Bornean Bay Cat can also be compared to the exclusivity of a niche product; it may not appeal to the masses, but it can be highly valuable to a specific group of users. However, the challenge lies in ensuring that this niche product is not too obscure or difficult to access, just as conservationists face challenges in protecting the Bornean Bay Cat. In the business world, this means ensuring the product is well-marketed and easily available to those who need it. By doing so, you can turn the product's uniqueness into a strength, attracting a loyal and dedicated customer base, much like how the uniqueness of the Bornean Bay Cat makes it a focus for conservation efforts.
