At SHAMIRIVEG LTD we keep learning through invitations from Mercy Corps AgriFin and from the 2-day event this was our take home from last week; 1) Government policies majorly shape the impact of agriculture in our country and there is a need for more proactive ways of regulating agriculture. 2) Public-private partnerships can be a means of providing basic infrastructure in building a low-level distribution network, like in our case of last-mile connecting smallholder farmers and small-scale traders. 3) There is an insatiable need to embed AI in agriculture especially predictive analytics like market insights. There was an amazing showcase from Mzee AI! 4) Inclusivity- Gender gaps are still there in agriculture but the impact is seen in empowering women in communities with growth rates as high as 70%-90% in access to finance, credit, Insurance, farm inputs, and supplies.
