📊 A recent study from the Canopy Project, run by Transcend and the Center on Reinventing Public Education, showed that teacher workforce issues are the top concern for educators right now. This has long been a challenge in 📖 education and its persistence points to how deeply rooted this challenge is in how we’ve designed the 👨🏫 teaching profession. 💭 Here are some of my thoughts on how we can redesign teaching to improve outcomes for schools and students 🏫 👩🎓 💡 What would you add? Thanks for the great discussion this morning on how higher ed institutions can improve reenrollment and degree attainment for those with some college but no credential. Explore the insights from our report: https://lnkd.in/gR3_g3qB
Had a great time this morning discussing the results of our research study on adult learners who left (and some who returned) to Shasta College and College of Continuing Education (CCE) at Sacramento State with Project Attain and California Competes. We were hosted by Dakota Pawlicki, Director of CivicLab. Always happy to talk with folks who are trying to make higher education more accessible and doable for adult learners!

Michael, here's some observations from my healthcare days in rehabilitation. In the '80's one therapist would treat twelve patients/day. Through the transformation to third party reimbursement, we had to alter our staffing models to include therapy assistants and therapy aids. With the re-design in resource allocation, one therapist could treat up to thirty-six patients a day. Imagine if teacher and support services responsibilities were re-designed. What if each classroom had a teacher, tutor, counselor and edTech specialist? I'm not suggesting this as a model. I'm suggesting we explore alternative staffing models to address your key point.
