Breaking the law can have HUGE consequences. But it’s often the things we think are small that can have the biggest impact. 😱 You might think taking a sip of beer before hitting the road can't do any harm. But it can. 🍺 Truckers caught drinking could have their CDL license suspended and also find themselves without a job in the future. The law requires trucking companies to check new applicants' driving, conviction, and safety records. So, any place you apply to will know! 🚛 Remember – if you get a DUI… you won’t be able to get behind the wheel of a commercial truck ever again. So, is that drink worth it? We sure don’t think so. 🚫 #DontDrinkAndDrive #TruckersAgainstDUI #DriveSober #RoadSafety #CDLSafety #TruckDriverLife #StaySober #NoDUI #TransportSafety #TruckingIndustry #SafeDriving #KeepYourLicense #TruckerTips #LifeOnTheRoad #TruckersLife #DrivingLaws #SafetyFirst #ThinkBeforeYouDrink #ResponsibleTrucking #CommercialDriving

We are proud to celebrate Steeve Pool, our Safety Star, who has achieved an outstanding safety score of 100! With 44 years of driving experience, Steeve exemplifies the safety-first mindset that is crucial in the trucking industry. His advice to fellow drivers: "Just take your time and don't rush." Steeve's dedication to safety and his exceptional performance as a local driver make him an invaluable member of our fleet. Here are a few safety tips for CDL drivers inspired by Steeve's approach: 1️⃣ Start with a Safety Check: Ensure your vehicle is in top condition before hitting the road. Regular inspections can prevent accidents and breakdowns. 2️⃣ Stay Alert and Avoid Distractions: According to the FMCSA, distracted driving is a leading cause of accidents. Keep your focus on the road and avoid using mobile devices while driving. 3️⃣ Maintain Safe Following Distances: It takes longer for trucks to stop compared to smaller vehicles. Keeping a safe distance can prevent rear-end collisions. 4️⃣ Adjust Speed for Conditions: Whether it's bad weather or heavy traffic, always adjust your speed to match road conditions. Speeding is a major factor in truck accidents. 5️⃣ Take Regular Breaks: Fatigue is a significant risk for truck drivers. The CDC recommends taking breaks and adhering to Hours of Service regulations to stay rested and alert. We are fortunate to have drivers like Steeve Pool who lead by example with their safety-centered ethos. Thank you, Steeve, for your unwavering commitment to safety and excellence on the road. #SafetyFirst #TruckingSafety #CDLDrivers #TitaniumTransportation #RoadSafety #ProfessionalDrivers #TruckingExcellence #DriverTips #SafetyCulture #FleetSafety

Mike "Ace" McCarron thankyou for bringing this article to our attention. In Canada, we have advocated for standardized training across all provinces in an effort to manage this important issue. It’s no surprise that the problem is 10 fold in the USA largely because of their market size, putting pressure on operators to “do the wrong thing” in times of desperation…still inexcusable. The team at DriverDX believes driver training should be standardized with ONE SYSTEM for all provinces and states. The priority is a promise of SAFETY to the driver and everyone else on, or near the road, and only then should the business contract take priority. Standardizing training will enrich drivers with the knowledge and respect they deserve. Additionally, allowing them to re-locate and transition with the SAME TRAINING regardless of where they choose to work, ultimately contributing to a safer environment for everyone on the road.

“Houston, we have a problem” The highways of North America have never been more dangerous but getting your hair cut has never been safer! “In most states, aspiring barbers have to spend 1,000 hours or more in training before they get a license. To drive a 40,000-pound truck, though, there’s no minimum behind-the-wheel driving time required, no proof of ability to navigate through mountains, snow, or rain”

Sections 391.63 and .65 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations offer regulated fleets some leeway when it comes to qualifying so-called "multiple-employer drivers" and drivers furnished by other motor carriers. More specifically, the regulations offers some shortcuts to the standard driver qualification processes like applications, previous employer safety performance history requests, etc. for drivers who qualify for the exemptions. Read more about these exemptions from our partners at Trucksafe here: https://lnkd.in/g68EXdQZ #trucking #truckingindustry #dotcompliance #eregs

The annual International Roadcheck is upon us, taking place from May 14-16. This event, orchestrated by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), aims to ensure that commercial vehicles and their drivers comply with safety regulations. During the three-day blitz, inspectors across the country will examine commercial vehicles for safety compliance, focusing this year particularly on drug and alcohol regulations and the functionality of tractor and trailer protection valves. For a detailed guide on what to expect and how to ensure your compliance, read Cliff Abbott's article on gearing up for International Roadcheck 2024. Have you ever pulled up to the back of a semi-truck with a sign asking, “How am I driving?” That is usually accompanied by a phone number that will let you call the trucking company and tell them exactly how their employee is driving. According to the Large Truck and Bus Crash Facts 2020 report published by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), there were 168,000 truck accidents that year, with 32% of those incidents involving injury and 3% involving fatalities. There is room for improvement. Given what is at stake on the roads, it would be good to know if truck drivers can have their licenses revoked. To operate a tractor-trailer or 18-wheeler, a driver must obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Everyone who drives a car gets a non-commercial driver’s license (NCDL). Both are subject to revocation, but there is much less leniency with truck drivers. #TruckDriver #Trucker #Trucking #Laws https://lnkd.in/gdwGTDpS

PTAG Trucking News : In a recent report by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), it was revealed that a staggering 171,361 commercial truck drivers with CDL and CLP licenses are currently at risk of losing their driving privileges due to violations listed in the federal drug and alcohol database. This means that thousands of truck drivers could potentially face suspension or revocation of their commercial driving privileges in just a few months. Failure to successfully complete the Return-to-Duty process by November 18, 2024, will result in CDL holders facing license downgrades. On this date, all State Driver Licensing Agencies (SDLAs) must strip commercial driving privileges from individuals labeled as "Prohibited." These license downgrades will persist until the individual has completed the Return-to-Duty process. 🚛💨 🍾🍷🎊👋🍺🍻🥂🚬💊💉🎉 #PTAG #PTAGnews #Trucking #TruckingNews #ClearingHouse
