In honor of Boulder Station's 30th anniversary month, Station Casinos pulled off a major surprise for our 39 day-one Team Members during an all-Team Member meeting yesterday. The property GM Chris Gellner invited all day-one Team Members to the front of the room and delivered the message they would all be receiving a net check of $1,994 to commemorate Boulder Station's opening year.
The Team Members cheered with joy and thanked their colleagues and management teams. The company would like to acknowledge and thank their unwavering dedication and exceptional service over the decades. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gYBZMbSt
Congrats to those day one team members. I had the privilege of opening that great property with Frank Fertitta lll, Blake Sartini, Steve Arcana, Tom Moore, and my dear friend the late Sandy Benedict. I remember the flooring was special and stood out for a locals casino.

Is Hudson Yards the next Sin City?
Wynn Resorts and Related Companies unveiled plans for a $12 billion upgrade to Hudson Yards, which includes a brand new casino.
Will there be table games and a sportsbook?
We don't know yet. I assume this is going be very similar to other Wynn resorts, but there's not many details on the casino itself.
Which might actually be a strategic move to distract people from the potential degeneracy, because their vision is much bigger than blackjack tables and Elvis impersonators.
They're also planning on revitalizing the neighborhood.
They want to build a new school, affordable housing, and because of the location, they'd also be giving $2 Billion to the MTA.
They’ve also proposed designing a 5.6-acre public park with open lawns, gardens, and a dog run.
The project will create 35,000 construction jobs and 5,000 union jobs at the actual resort.
Now, the irony is the current version of Hudson Yards has been labeled a billionaire's fantasy.
A playground designed for the rich, not the everyday citizen.
Locals have also critiqued it for having empty buildings, failing businesses, and nothing unique about the experience.
But the man behind the curtain is very confident and adamant that Hudson yards is a placement for everyone. And it seems like the second phase of his project, is a way to prove the haters wrong.
None of it will matter though if they don't get a gaming license.
In my last video, I went through the billion dollar arms race for the three available licenses.
There's a lot of very rich people bidding on the opportunity to earn the business of New York's biggest gamblers.
Honestly, I've read through a lot of these proposals and this one seems pretty good. They're gonna give Uncle Steve a run for his money.
But I live in the suburbs now, so maybe I'm oblivious to the reality of what Hudson Yards is really like.
Regardless, someone's gonna win the license.
Should it be them?

What does the process of reimaging your F&B operation look like? At Carousel Hospitality, we don't hear that term and simply pull out a can of paint and slap a new logo up, shuffle a half dozen menu items and call it a day.
Careful, thoughtful impactful analysis is conducted. We have meaningful discussions with our partners on what the scope and scale of the project looks like, including of course cost, but most importantly, what is the desired outcome and ultimately, is that outcome moving the needle on guest satisfaction and taking the guest experience to the next level!
When you're ready to evolve your guest experiences, let's discuss what reimaging your F&B operation and enhancing your total guest experience looks like.

This past weekend, I had the privilege of working at Nashville Oktoberfest once again, representing Nashville Soft Pretzel Co., LLC in the NSPC tent. This marks my third (or maybe fourth!) year contributing to this amazing event, and each year brings new opportunities for growth.
In 2023, I transitioned to the production side, where I learned to carefully weigh fresh pretzel dough into 3 or 4 oz increments quickly and efficiently. But this year, I made it a point to learn even more. By shadowing the people who typically run other stations, I picked up new skills and became more versatile in helping out where needed. Our fearless leader, Vincent Dreffs, knows exactly where our strengths lie, and I’m grateful for the chance to expand mine.
One thing that makes this team special is how dedicated we all are. A handful of Vince’s family members even fly down from Michigan to work the tent every year—that’s how much this means to us (and how wonderful of a leader he is)! We had no new faces this year, which was reassuring, as everyone knew their roles and was ready to dive back in. The experience felt like clockwork, thanks to this seasoned group of hard-working individuals including Abby Harris, Zach Anderson (BS-Guitar) and Ashley Guastella!
This event allows me to hone my Process Improvement skills. Whether it’s in an office or at a festival, my ability to spot inefficiencies and step in to make things run smoother is something I take pride in. When I had a moment to rest, I’d check our stock or see if the service area needed anything. If my coworkers needed a hand, or a station was getting behind, I jumped in wherever I could. As one of our leaders pointed out, learning how to assist with other stations was a huge asset this year, and being adaptable helped the whole operation run more efficiently.
I’m proud of what we accomplished, and I can’t wait for next year! 🥨🍻

🌳 The story behind our brand 🌳 At Thomas Park, our brand holds a deep, personal connection to our roots. Our name was inspired by a park in Boston—Thomas Park—a place of pivotal significance to our CEO, EJ Rumpke. It’s where he made the decision to leave his career in accounting and move to Maryland to join forces with our CIO, Alex Kopicki.
Chief Executive Officer at Casey's General Stores, Inc.
As Casey's evolves, we are bringing bigger, bolder partnerships to life to have a greater impact with our team, guests and communities. I can’t think of a better way to do that than welcoming Casey’s Center to Des Moines in July 2025.
This is the hub of nearly 200 events each year and Casey’s wants to be a force multiplier for what’s happening here, and across the region. And, yes, we’re bringing our iconic, handmade pizza to Casey’s Center – I can’t wait to celebrate the first slice!
We appreciate the partnership with the Polk County Board of Supervisors, Oak View Group, and the Iowa Events Center team, and we look forward to what’s ahead at Casey’s Center.
