Summer’s here, and it’s time to relax and enjoy! Whether you’re planning a family road trip or flying off to new adventures, keeping your money safe is a must. Here’s how to travel with peace of mind: Before you go: Notify us of your travel plans: Log in to your STCU account and submit a travel notification. This prevents your card from being blocked when used in new locations. Watch for fraud alerts: If we spot suspicious activity, we’ll reach out via text, email, or call. Confirm the transaction to keep your card active. Enable card controls: Use our mobile app or online banking to set spending alerts and control how your card is used. Pack a backup payment: Bring an extra credit card or some cash, stored separately from your main card. Hold your mail: Request the Post Office to hold your mail or switch to online statements to keep personal info safe while you're away. While you’re traveling: Be cautious on social media: Avoid posting detailed vacation plans or personal info that scammers could use. Use secure Wi-Fi: Stay off sensitive sites when connected to public Wi-Fi to protect your personal data. Stay safe at ATMs: Check ATMs for anything unusual before using them, and shield your PIN from view. Monitor your accounts: Regularly check your account activity via STCU’s app or online banking to spot any unusual spending.
