When maybe "Senior Software Developer" would do just fine? Are we marketing ourselves to those who can decode this jargon, or to people who actually know what they're looking for? And yet, we find ourselves complaining when the job doesn't align with what we truly enjoy doing... but were we ever really clear about what we do? I'm in the camp that new innovations create new markets and new industries where new jobs will be available with job titles that we haven’t even thought of yet. Consider, 20 years ago jobs like the following didn't exist: ➡ App Developer ➡ Data Scientist ➡ Cloud Architect ➡ Machine Learning Engineer ➡ Social Media Manager ➡ UX/UI Developer ➡ Drone Pilot ➡ Telehealth Coordinator, etc. But they do now bc of innovations like "the internet", "the cloud", "AI", and the like. For my part, I tend towards towards: "𝘈𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴. 𝘙𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵."

Hey team, especially for those of you who are hiring technology positions in the federal space, I want to share some awesome stats about a couple of the #ArmyRemoteWork positions we've been advertising. For a remote GS14 1560 data scientist position earlier this year, the Army Chief Information Officer's office got over 300 applications, had 221 qualified applicants, and did over 40 interviews to select incredible talent! Remember those two remote GS14 1515 ORSA positions we advertised last week? https://lnkd.in/emrEsDaX The announcement closed down with over 🌟500🌟 applicants! As organizations continue to struggle with return to office mandates, folks are voting with their feet - which means it's prime time for organizations like the US Army. We can't go toe-to-toe with industry in terms of raw compensation, but if you're one of our remote capable organizations who can offer flexible work accommodations and quality of life? Now we have a competition! So if you've got a position where the work can really be done from anywhere (or requires a lot of travel already anyway) in a location that struggles to attract talent, maybe that position location should be a little more flexible. #FutureOfWork #RemoteWork #ArmyTalentManagement
