It's #ImpactFriday and we're thrilled to have hosted a Steel Partners Holdings Steel Energy Services Town Hall at our new Lasorda Legacy Academy in Colorado! This beautiful new indoor baseball, softball and multisport facility was the perfect backdrop for former World Cup soccer star and current NBC Premier League Analyst Robbie Earle to share his journey from the pitch to the studio. Said Byron Arthur, VP Human Resources, “Steel Sports was able to host the Steel Energy Town Hall in their new Lasorda Legacy Academy, Johnstown facility! Robbie’s stories and message capture all of Partner’s Core Values, in particular Teamwork and Respect were relatable to our daily tasks.” Steel Partners and Steel Sports Coaching, Sponsorship and Kids First Sports Camps initiatives were presented, as well as some of the team giving the batting cages and soccer turf a try. Great way to kick off this new community facility! #KidsFirst #Teamwork #Respect #Integrity #Commitment

They only happen a few times per year, but when they do, they give us a valuable reminder. And they’re incredibly exciting. I’m talking about inside-the-park home runs. Most homers happen when a hitter crushes the ball over the fence. But sometimes it doesn’t need to go that far. Sometimes a player manages to round every base and beat the throw home. Speed plays a role, but there are many other variables at play. You have to hit the ball into the perfect location, and your third base coach needs to have both the vision and the trust to send you home. Then there are the variables you can’t control, such as the outfielder’s arm strength, the accuracy of the throw, and just plain luck. That’s why these plays are so rare — and why they hold value far outside the world of sports. Inside-the-park homers remind us that truly fantastic and unforgettable moments are only possible when you have a strong foundation: A foundation built on hard work, talent and great communication. And yes, a bit of luck never hurts! #leadership #teamwork #collaboration

Six years ago, our nation united in sorrow, placing hockey sticks on our porches to pay tribute to the Humboldt Broncos hockey team, following a devastating crash that claimed the lives of 16 individuals aboard their bus. As the mother of two sons who play competitive hockey, I understand firsthand how teammates become your family- both on and off the ice. I grieved their loss. As a public safety professional, I held space in my heart for the 9-1-1 team and responders to this tragic call. During the APCO Canada conference, I had the opportunity to meet Rhonda, a member of the Saskatchewan P-ECC. Her team was being recognized for their response to the tragic stabbing rampage at James Cree First Nations. Our conversation deepened as she shared that her team was also on duty during the Humboldt tragedy. She expressed mixed feelings about being honored for such work, a sentiment I fully understand. Being celebrated for your role in a tragedy is challenging. Most of us consider it 'part of the job.' And maybe this is why 9-1-1 Communication professionals feel an immediate bond with each other. We're all too familiar with the responsibility of navigating others through their darkest times. Last month, out of the blue, I received a special gift from my new friend Rhonda. A beautiful hand-made key chain wristlet. Her kindness is beyond thoughtful. So today, as we wear green and remember the Humboldt Broncos, let’s also recognize the silent heroes behind the scenes. Those who show up day after day to make a difference, one call at a time. #nenaontario #911canada #911dispatch #911communications #apcocanada #saskatchewan #humboldtstrong #publicsafety #ng911

Rimpage: the future of basketball is player-centred What if the future of basketball wasn’t just about talent, but also integrity and leadership — where every player is truly the master of their destiny? By Katarina Miletic - Rimpage Co-Creator What if the future of basketball wasn’t just about talent, but also integrity and leadership—where every player is truly the master of their destiny? This is the heart of Rimpage, the world’s only player-centred basketball super-league. It is a vision unlike any other, where the players themselves are at the centre of everything, leading their own path, supported by a system built to honour integrity, independence, and community. Rimpage is not just the only world basketball axis—it is a movement, a game-changer in the way the sport is played, governed, and lived. Rimpage doesn’t operate like traditional leagues where sponsorships and outside interests dictate the terms. Instead, our vision is pure: self-sustaining, self-funded, and above all, founded on principles that ensure integrity is never compromised... Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gidhh4kb

Conner Tomasic made a few minor but impactful changes after a few early season struggles with consistency and missing bats. After these changes, CT has been lights out. His line since then: 6 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 10 K RHHs are batting a whopping 5 for 43 with 14 Ks against him. Our team took a deep dive into what may have led to control issues and inconsistencies. Take a look at the video below! What do you notice? The left side is prior to 6/7, and the right is after. How does energy transfer up the chain for Tomasic? What has changed in each video? How rotational does he look? Sometimes the most impactful changes are relatively minor in the context of pitching development.
