As a site engineer or supervisor. My job is not to teach a brick layer how to lay blocks. That is the knowledge they should have before seeking employment. My role is to guide them, point out errors, and tell areas that may need additional levelling and alignment. As a site engineer, if you surround yourself with workmen who have poor work ethics, the result will always be sub standard. The reason why, one of your greatest strengths should be attention to details. Can you identify errors? Strutinze those working for you and make sure they are competent and truly understand their role. Do not allow them jeopardize the quality of your work as this will affect your reputation. If they can't see the bigger picture and give you quality results, fire them from your site. Be the kind of person that doesn't accept sub standard output. Have the courage to let go anyone unwilling to pursue excellence. Recognise your role and the role of your team. ✨ Due to the prevailing conditions that have persisted for nearly a week, the blasting and painting activities for the underground pipe have been canceled. Completing this work is critical because the pipe is located on an access road that will be used by the heavy lift crane scheduled for nearby equipment installation. Top management expects the long-overdue erection of this equipment to take place the following week. Any further delay will impact the schedule of other major activities. However, given the ongoing climatic conditions, the underground pipe coating will be delayed. ⁉️ As a contractor coating supervisor, how would you explain this delay in the coating application to your superior?
