To kick off National Teen Driver Safety Week, USAA is reminding young drivers and their parents of the importance of safe driving practices every time they get behind the wheel. We’re thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Bosch USA with the intention to bring Bosch wrong-way driver alerts into the new SiriusXM Connect mobile safety app! This innovative, cloud-based system leverages anonymized data to detect vehicles traveling in the wrong direction on highway ramps. When detected, the system issues warnings to the driver and alerts others nearby to the potential danger. The need for this technology is clear. According to the U.S. Federal Highway Administration, wrong-way driving caused more than 700 fatalities in 2022, a staggering 60% increase over the past five years. Together, we aim to make this technology more accessible to drivers across the country by integrating Bosch’s wrong-way driver alerts into the SiriusXM Connect mobile safety app. This partnership could extend this potentially life-saving feature to millions of new users, providing real-time warnings for wrong-way driving incidents. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue driving innovation and safety forward! #SiriusXM #Bosch #CES2025 #RoadSafety #Innovation #CES
Inventing life-saving technology is what pushes us forward. Our wrong-way driver warning system has the potential to do just that. The Bosch cloud-based technology monitors vehicles as they approach highway entrance or exit ramps. Using anonymized data, it determines whether a vehicle is traveling in the correct direction. If a vehicle is moving the wrong way, a warning is issued to the driver, and other drivers can also be alerted to the danger of an oncoming vehicle. This morning at CES 2025, we also announced that we are working together with SiriusXM Connect to potentially bring Bosch wrong-way driver alerts into the new SiriusXM Connect mobile safety app. Read more from Phoebe Wall Howard on Substack: https://lnkd.in/eN5uwDVP #CES2025 #BoschCES #LikeABosch #mobility #safety

Did you know that in just the time it takes to enter an address into a navigation app, a vehicle traveling at 25 mph can cover the length of four football fields? Navigation systems are just one of the numerous causes of distracted driving. From cell phones to in-vehicle technologies, distractions like texting, calls, and even hands-free devices can divert a driver's attention, posing significant risks on the road. Social media adds another layer of distraction, with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat tempting drivers to engage even while behind the wheel. Shockingly, studies reveal that up to seven in 10 people use their smartphones while driving, and four in 10 engage with social media while on the road. Some even believe they can safely shoot videos and take selfies while driving. With as many as one in three U.S. adults admitting to using technology while driving, the prevalence of distracted driving is alarming, and many of these drivers are likely among your employees. Does your company have a robust distracted driving policy in place? If not, here are five compelling reasons to consider implementing one. #fleet #safety #roadsafety #fleetsafety #distracteddriving #distracteddrivingawareness #drivedifferent #smithsystem https://lnkd.in/gCmq79vG
