Hurricane season is here, and it's important to be prepared. Here are some tips to help you get ready: Create a hurricane plan for your home and family. This plan should include evacuation routes, contact information for emergency services, and a list of important documents to take with you. Have a go-bag packed with essential items. This should include food, water, first-aid supplies, and medications. Stay informed. Monitor the weather forecast and listen to local emergency broadcasts. Be prepared to evacuate if necessary. If you are told to evacuate, do so immediately. Here are some additional tips: Have a plan for your pets. Make sure you have a safe place for them to stay if you need to evacuate. Check on elderly neighbors and relatives. They may need help preparing for the storm. Be aware of the risks of flooding and storm surge. If you live in an area that is prone to flooding, make sure you have a plan to evacuate or to stay safe if you are unable to evacuate.
