A paved walkway in the rear garden at a private property in Kent used tufftop natural grey jointing mortar to finish and give the paving a strong and long-lasting life. tufftop was used over clay paviours produced by Vande Moortel at 215 x 50 x 70 mm. To assist Abbey Garden Landscaping in their first time using tufftop jointing mortar, Darius, our Specification and Technical Manager went to the site to demonstrate how to use our tufftop jointing mortar best. He also went through any questions that were had by the landscaping team. The site demonstration was done on a small project area, which included mixing tufftop to the correct consistency, spreading the mortar into the joints and finally cleaning the jointed area with a Washboy kit. Steintec strive to ensure that your projects look great by producing high- performance mortars and offering on-site support for all of our products. Technical datasheets, method statements and videos are available on the Steintec website; https://lnkd.in/efeyf_Jq If you have any further questions please contact us on 0203 598 9800, where one of our skilled staff can either help you over the phone or arrange a site visit to carry out product training. Lean Principles Transformed My Landscaping Business When I first started in landscaping, hitting $1M seemed like the pinnacle. But as we grew, I quickly realized that reaching $1M wasn’t the end, it was just the beginning. Scaling my business from $1M to $3M, then from $3M to $10M, and eventually beyond $50M took more than hard work and determination; it took a complete shift in how I managed every detail, every project, and every team member. Lean principles became my guide, my playbook, and ultimately, my secret weapon. $1M - $3M: Building a Foundation on Efficiency At $1M, I was wearing every hat in the business, handling everything from job site logistics to payroll. But I knew if I wanted to grow, I couldn’t do it all. Lean forced me to look at my business processes with a critical eye, identifying every piece of wasted time, excess materials, and redundant effort. I began implementing simple, repeatable systems that saved us time and kept us focused. Lean wasn’t just about cutting costs, it helped me deliver quality consistently, which became the bedrock of our reputation. $3M - $10M: Shifting to a Management Operating System Getting from $3M to $10M took an entirely new level of structure. I was no longer involved in every decision; I had to trust my team to manage projects, keep standards high, and handle customer relationships. I implemented a Lean-based Management Operating System (MOS) that became the backbone of our business. It gave every team member clarity on their role, ensured every job ran on a well-oiled schedule, and allowed us to track performance in real-time. The MOS allowed me to focus on strategy and growth while my team handled the day-to-day with confidence. $10M - $50M: Scaling with Precision and Consistency Once we broke $10M, scaling became less about growth and more about precision. At that size, one bad decision or mismanaged project could cost us hundreds of thousands. Lean principles kept us grounded; every process was optimized, every team member trained in efficiency and continuous improvement. With the MOS in place, we had a structure that could handle rapid growth without breaking down. Every new hire knew their role, every project ran on tight schedules, and our customers continued to receive exceptional value, no matter the scale. Why Lean Matters for Every Landscaper Looking back, I can’t imagine building a landscape business without a Lean Management Operating System. Lean gave us clarity, kept us agile, and turned our team into a well coordinated force. The structure Lean provides doesn’t limit growth; it enables it. In landscaping, where the margin for error can be thin, Lean principles provide a roadmap to build a business that’s scalable, sustainable, and truly resilient. If you’re serious about growth and want a business that can handle the pressures and complexities of scaling, Lean isn’t optional - it’s essential. It’s the difference between running your business and truly leading it.

Invisible danger: excess subfloor moisture poses a particular threat to the appearance of wood flooring Achieving a long-lasting, visually attractive finish with timber floors demands that the same basic principles of installation are followed as when installing other types of flooring. However, wood is even more susceptible than textile or resilient floorcoverings to damage from moisture, so deploying a moisture management solution can be vital.‘If unmanaged, excess subfloor moisture, the result of either rising damp or residual construction moisture, will cause wood to warp and attack adhesives, potentially resulting in the flooring cupping or buckling and, ultimately, complete floor failure. Safeguarding against excess subfloor moisture is, therefore, an essential step when installing this kind of floor,’ says Tim Green, F Ball training manager. In addition to ensuring a subfloor is suitably sound, smooth and free of any contaminants, including any old adhesive residues, it is essential to undertake a moisture test to check for subfloor moisture. The only way of measuring levels of subfloor relative humidity (RH) with accuracy, and the method advocated by British Standards, is using a calibrated digital hygrometer.Normally, a liquid waterproof surface membrane will be required to suppress excess subfloor moisture and prevent damage to flooring when RH levels are above 75%. However, the maximum permitted figure is 65% where wood floorcoverings will be installed because of their sensitivity to moisture. https://lnkd.in/exGSME9B

GOWEL Waterproof connectors are specialized connectors designed to prevent water and moisture ingress in electrical and electronic systems. They are commonly used in outdoor or harsh environments to ensure reliable connections. These connectors are typically sealed with gaskets or O-rings to provide a watertight seal. Why Is It Necessary To Use Waterproof Connectors? 1) Waterproof and Moisture-Resistant: In outdoor or humid environments, electrical connectors may be exposed to rain, moisture, or even submersion. Waterproof connectors effectively prevent moisture ingress, avoiding short circuits and electrical shock risks, ensuring the normal operation of circuits and the safety of equipment. 02) Extend Equipment Lifespan: Moisture and corrosive substances can cause corrosion and oxidation of electrical connection points, affecting electrical performance and connection stability. Waterproof connectors protect these connection points from damage, thereby extending the lifespan of the equipment. 03)- Enhance Safety: In applications requiring high safety, such as outdoor lighting, gardening equipment, and industrial automation, waterproof connectors prevent short circuits and electrical failures caused by moisture, enhancing the overall system's safety. 04) Adapt to Harsh Environments: Waterproof connectors typically use durable materials and designs, allowing them to operate normally in high temperatures, low temperatures, strong UV radiation, and other harsh environments, ensuring the reliability of the connections. 05)-Maintain Connection Stability: Waterproof connectors are equipped with sealing rings and other protective designs, effectively preventing water, dust, and other particles from entering the connection, maintaining the stability and reliability of the connection. 06)-Versatility: Waterproof connectors are widely used in outdoor lighting, gardening equipment, marine equipment, automotive, power tools, industrial automation, and other fields, suitable for various environments requiring reliable protection.

Landscaping is more than just mowing lawns and trimming hedges—it’s about building and maintaining outdoor spaces that enhance the value, beauty, and functionality of your property. And behind every great landscape is a strong, team-minded landscaper. Here’s why having a collaborative, proactive landscaping team is essential: 1. Seamless Communication with Property Managers A landscaper with a team mindset prioritizes communication. They work closely with property managers, ensuring every detail aligns with your vision. Whether it's adapting to new priorities or providing updates on seasonal maintenance, they're always in sync. 2. Problem-Solving and Proactivity From unexpected weather changes to pest issues, landscaping challenges happen. A team-minded landscaper anticipates potential problems, communicates solutions, and coordinates resources to keep your property looking its best. 3. Pride in Collective Success Teamwork isn’t just internal. A landscaper who sees the bigger picture collaborates with other service providers, from pool maintenance to pest control, to create a cohesive outdoor environment that enhances the whole property. 4. Efficiency That Saves Time and Costs By working smarter—not harder—a collaborative landscaper ensures tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. The result?
