When we have body confidence we accept, and are happy with, how we look and what our bodies can do. The body is an amazing biological engine that keeps us breathing, moving, seeing, hearing, tasting, laughing, and we should celebrate all the wondrous things that it does every day for us! Here are some ways to work towards body acceptance: * Focus on what your body can do. * Eat foods that are satisfying and make you feel good. * Change the way you talk and think about your body. * Stop comparing yourself to others, or to a past version of you. My favorite park was full of people doing "fall color" photo shoots and my thoughts were turning judgy.   "Since when is this park so popular?" "Why can't people just enjoy the mountains?"   Sure, it was distracting, sure I had to wait for some people to move off the trail so I could pass.   But it really wasn't a big deal, and my judgy self was just looking for attention.   (I don't like being judgemental, but it's a muscle I've flexed enough times that I've gotten really good at it. So I need pattern interrupts. Brene Brown would call it "perspective taking," a key component of empathy.) I noticed a little girl, whose wardrobe was perfect for the season and coordinated with her family. She had on adorable creme colored boots with dusty pink soles and laces. As I passed by, I stopped, got down to her level and said:   "I love your boots! Pink laces… you must be the luckiest girl in the whole park!"   She beamed, her mom smiled and I immediately felt the judginess leave me. Now it was just people enjoying a beautiful fall day in the park. I'm guessing we could all use more perspective taking with customers, partners, co-workers, bosses, friends and family members, especially when they annoy us.    Not only is it good for business, it's a good way to live. Kudos to Anthony and his team for moving the envelope in the lab-grown diamond space. It is understandable that the Future Rocks remains a niche player with very little risk of competing with its parent Chow Sang Sang Holdings International Limited in the more mainstream jewellery markets in Greater China. CSS has a younger brand called Emphasis which I believe is targeted at younger consumers. It would seem logical that Future Rocks offerings can be test marketed in such brick and mortar stores belonging to CSS to gain bigger traction. It is indeed disappointing that none of the big retailers with headquarters in Hong Kong has seen fit to offer LGD as a choice to Hong Kong or Chinese consumers. I believe that as high as 80 percent of retailers(I am not sure about exact percentage but it is high) are offering LGD in the U.S. retail market as both a bridal as well as fashion option. Without a doubt the LGD market is challenging so sitting on the fence is understandable. The question is not IF but WHEN LGD will become available in the major chains in Hong Kong. Pandora and SWAROVSKI have been slow to offer their LGD lines in Hong Kong. I believe Pandora is offering it in a few of their Hong Kong stores. There are smaller retailers who may be making good money selling LGD in Hong Kong. The wholesale market is very active with many Indian wholesalers but LGD remains the best kept secret in the Hong Kong retail space. The traditional retailers prefer to keep it this way for good reasons. For as long as possible. I see great opportunity for a Great Leap forward by a visionary player. Maybe it will be CSS or the likes. Or maybe it will be an overseas retailer line Titan but they too are not offering LGD in India. Plus, as Britain’s Imperial War Museum notes, referring to ships as “she” has to do with beliefs in feminine figures (think: goddesses and mothers) protecting the vessel and its crew.
