My business model gives my team autonomy early in their tenure. They must make choices without the benefit of having learned granular details, or having someone to ask. They get to realize success very early because of that autonomy. How? I share one thing with them, then work to ensure they believe it. I tell them that when they encounter a new situation we haven’t reviewed to choose whatever action elevates the guest’s experience; and that as long as they made a choice through that lens, even if there were better alternatives, I will support their action. We get only two outcomes- most commonly successes to celebrate and share with teammates- sometimes we get developmental opportunities. Either way the organization learns and grows and our legend among guests is stronger. Casey deploys his autonomy with an ownership ethos and that will grow his legend and cause more opportunity for him to lead.
~30 Minutes before we close~ Guest “I know it’s late, but I heard you were the guy to call for Catering, do you think you could feed 45 people in the next 30 minutes?” Me “Absolutely, I am always up for a challenge” And we nailed it! Running out 4 large Catering bags in a Storm was definitely the most exciting part of the night. Moral of the story is, when opportunity comes knocking, Always make a lasting impression to make the most out of it. That will be a Raving Fan for life.

😍 Success Stories intrigue us as humans. We either love watching or being inspired by them, or we loath them coz the remind us of our failings. 😎 Loath of Love them, they trigger an emotional response in us that drives us to action. I stumbled upon this really powerful story of a Melbourne Restaurant owner whose whole menu is Hainaness Chicken Rice and a few other of my childhood favourites. 😋 While it was the food that got me to start watching, but it was the story of this chef and his resilient journey from illness to success that keep me watching this 15minutes video, bringing a tear to my eye: https://lnkd.in/g3vmr_UV 💥 Visual success stories are powerful tools that drive action, working really well in marketing. This can be, in this case the brand story of Gai Wong, or the success of a customer after using your product. Ultimately, it is the story of a journey where the hero eventually surmount the insurmountable, and emerge better on the other side. Regardless of which, I know where I'll be going for lunch very soon. #casestudy #brandstory #marketing #videomarketing

I’m one of those people everyone calls for ideas on what to do and where to go. And I get asked for my favorite Denver business trip recommendations all the time, so here you go! If you’re coming to town for work, here is my short list of must-dos. COFFEE: Aviano in Cherry Creek. Whether I simply need fuel for the day or a charming place to hold a casual meeting, Aviano is my go-to (even my basic b* almond milk latte is out of this world. (Thank you, Juan Padro!) EATS: Get yourself a reservation at Izakaya Den or Sushi Den. OR if you’re going all out, I highly recommend the chef’s table at Mercantile Dining & Provision for a meal you’ll never forget. ACTIVITIES: The Clyfford Still Museum is an underrated gem – I could get lost for days in his vibrant and immersive art. And then, of course, get outside because you’re in Denver! Take a walk around Washington Park or Cheesman Park – they’re magical in every season. #denver #travel #recommendations
