I suggest this movie is viewed by as many people as possible. Sumner High School, Kansas City, Kansas and Lincoln High School, Kansas City, Missouri are both now academy's with high bars to enter and a culturally diverse student population.....BUT AT WHAT COST? At one-time, both schools were African-American community schools, with African American administrations and the schools produced some of the most successful lawyers, doctors, engineers, scientists, athletes! Although segregated, they produced and were led by black excellence. Now we can't have that! So, what did they do! How do we have the same scenario on both sides of the state line? What Regional Planning Council drives the design and resource access for communities? Is this an algorithm of control of power and wealth through displacement and allocation of resources or withholding resources. Our problems of high poverty, poor healthcare index, and other socio-economic ills contained within communities of high population of minorities are internal, not external. I don't blame the mythical MAN, I blame those within that do the bidding and work of the mythical MAN! https://lnkd.in/gUq7D4HQ

I know something like this is something a lot of professional photographers focus on during their photographic journey. As a photographer that has spent money traveling from West Coast to East Coast I can agree that creating those moments creates what I call value. What can your photographic evolution do to my experiences traveling and doing photo journalism?
Matt Black: “People like to share, people like to feel like their experiences are important to others beyond themselves.” Hailing from rural California’s Central Valley, Matt Black has devoted his photographic practice to documenting social inequality, geography and environment across the United States. Through exploring social hierarchies of power, Black challenges the "mythologies and contradictions of America,” shedding light on and building meaningful connections with the communities he photographs. In his online course, The Documentary Commitment, Black expands on some of the lessons he’s learned through his practice, detailing his journey into photography and highlighting the overarching principles that guide him in creating meaningful work. 🔗 Explore Matt Black's online course: https://bit.ly/3POdRJy

Are you looking for a different high school option this coming year? Is your high school student a gifted & talented musician? Actor? Photographer? Dancer? Animator? Graphic Designer? Artist? Creative writer? Or overall creative? Or does your student WANT to be? We are actively auditioning students for the upcoming year!! What does this mean? Students must audition as part of the enrollment process to enter into a specific program. Singers sing to audition for the choir; musicians play to audition for the band, orchestra, guitar cohort, or piano cohort; actors perform a monologue to audition for theater or film & acting; photographers/ graphic designers/artists/filmographers/creatives submit a portfolio and explain their work to enter into the photography, graphic design, art, filmography, & Creatives programs; etc. After the audition, students complete an interview with the Executive Director and a Board member. When the audition is complete, audition judges decide if the school is a good fit for the student, the student is gifted, or if the student shows promise & potential. The Exec. Director & Board member decide if the student is a good fit for the school in terms of character, career goals, and overall demeanor. If we decide that the student would be successful at PAFANTX, then the Exec. Director sends out an invitation for the student to enroll. The last step of the process is a family interview to ensure that parents have the opportunity to discuss individual goals and aspirations for their student at the school. It is also an opportunity for the Exec. Director to answer any last minute questions or concerns before the enrollment process is complete. Check us out here: https://lnkd.in/gUGuNAcm Do you have additional questions? Let's talk! https://lnkd.in/gTKDeKx5 Are you ready to sign up for auditions? Now this is *really* interesting. (Not news because it's an 8 month old video.) Leica released the first digital camera with "content credentials" built into the metadata produced when you take a photo using this camera. Essentially, it vouches for the untouched version of a photo spat out of this camera. (Best as I can understand it.) This video's maybe 5 minutes long and light on detail, but fascinating concept. https://lnkd.in/e9Vd4DFZ
