Enrolled in the ATP CTP (Airline Transport Pilot - Certification Training Program) this summer at Airborne Training Services . The next step in achieving my aviation goals along with the written exam following the course.

✈ The first commercial passenger flight took place on 1st January 1914 between St. Petersburg and Tampa in Florida. The aircraft, a Benoist XIV piloted by Tony Jannus, carried a single passenger – Abram C. Pheil, the mayor of St. Petersburg. The flight lasted 23 minutes, covering 34 kilometres across Tampa Bay. 💸 The ticket for this flight was auctioned for $400, equivalent to over $10,000 today! This flight was groundbreaking, as it was organised by the St. Petersburg-Tampa Airboat Line, the first regularly scheduled airline offering public transport. Up until then, aircraft flights were predominantly military, experimental, or private endeavours. 🚀 Since then, commercial aviation has continued to evolve, connecting people across the globe. Airships: The Comeback We've Been Waiting For? An Airship: the number one sign that you’re in an alternate universe, or a Miyazaki movie. While they may seem like a bad idea, because they’re not as fast as planes or as powerful as freighters, airships actually sit in a goldilocks zone in between them. #Aviation #PilotTraining weekly digest: Air New Zealand announced the launch of its Mangōpare Pilot Cadetship program, which will graduate type-rated ATR72-600 pilots within 14 months. Initial cohorts will conduct ab-initio training at AeroGuard Flight Training Center in Arizona, followed by type conversion through Ansett Aviation Training Dubai, and then line operations once qualified. With unique and challenging domestic and long-haul flying conditions, the airline has commenced a procurement process to identify a long-term domestic training provider. The creation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) 🌐 in January 1945 played a pivotal role in shaping international air transport. The war accelerated technological advancements, and experienced military pilots transitioned to commercial airlines, contributing to the professionalisation of the industry ✈. A significant milestone came in October 1958 with the introduction of the Boeing 707 🛫 – the first commercial jet airliner, which transformed civil aviation. The Boeing 707 offered faster speeds, longer range, and greater passenger capacity than earlier piston-engine aircraft.
