Ritz Carlton's way of treating trainees and making them feel over the moon ! Ritz Carlton chain of hotels are best known for their great service and equally more so for their training and learning programs . Indeed, they are known for setting the "Gold Standards " in hospitality . Imagine, on the first day , when you join as a trainee, no less than the director of training and development warmly greets you , with a statement , " You are a GIFT. We are lucky to have you here ." What is the kind of feeling you have as a trainee? Wouldnt you be loyal to the brand ? Wouldnt you go out of the way to make the guests feel "very very important" because somebody has made you feel " so so important " on the first day of your joining ? Indeed so. Another share. All the trainees are asked to say the word "No" on the first day of joining, as part of the orientation.The trainees obey and say so .They are asked to say it again. And then the traineees are told that this was the last time they used the word NO in the hotel , and also possibly in their personal lives. The trainees may have to say that something will take a while or that it may cost a bit more. But they can’t make a guest feel good by saying NO. "Ladies and gentlemen ( as the trainees and all employees are addressed) , people do not come to RITZ CARLTON hotel to sleep in the guest rooms. They want an experience. And it is our job to do everything in our power to deliver that experience!” Doesnt it fit into any organisation's goals ? Do share your thoughts ! And do expect more from us . Often when things get stressful in the shacks, we breathe and remind ourselves that "we're just making lobster rolls." But the truth is, we're not. We're striving to be the world's most trusted seafood brand, and to leave our world better than we found it. Typical press coverage of Luke's features a picture of a lobster roll, or of our rapidly-aging white male founders. But the photo T+L chose for Luke's gets at everything behind the lobster roll. It's Flora, Amelia, and Ana, three young Black women who represent a promising future for the marine economy. Creating opportunity for groups of people who are traditionally excluded, and building a working waterfront where everyone--from 10th generation fishermen to folks who are brand new to the coast--belongs, is how we create a robust future for everyone in the seafood business.
