Just like people in logistics ensure we're fed, dressed, and equipped with a brand new TV, people in marketing aim at supplying other incredibly important goods in our time – – Content. I like to say that marketing is customer service before actual customer service. A good marketing strategy is all about educating your audience, enabling them to solve their problems, showing a preview of your product, and highlighting different use cases. And how do you do that? – – Content 🤷♂️ And not just blog content (or written content in general), but different types of content, purposefully placed at the stages where they'll be most impactful. This summary gives me a simple understanding about the role of product marketing following different types of business models. For me, I'd prefer product-led model. I believe that the quality and growth path of a product will drive its success with the help of product marketing to keep following and understanding market and customer needs.
