Institute for Public Leadership (IPL) announces the inaugural recipients of the Summer Doctoral Research Fellowship for Ph.D. students at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. Each recipient will receive a $5,000 grant to support their summer research endeavors. This fellowship aims to advance doctoral research that significantly contributes to public leadership theory and practice at local, state, national, and international levels across various policy domains. A particular focus is placed on projects that enhance public leadership within the state of Maryland. For those of you curious about my latest update... Yes, I am studying and enrolled in a certificate program through Fuller Theological Seminary in collaboration with Urban Strategies' Caminando Juntos program. This program is aimed at helping me develop the skills to journey with Pastors through the complexities of life and partner with God to bring Biblically-based, holistic well-being, to these incredible leaders - and the fun part is it's all in Español! I am still enrolled at Eastern University's MBA Program, learning the business end of things, and will soon begin my journey at the Transforming Center's Transforming Community in April. These learning opportunities are carefully placed on the calendar to allow me to continue working full-time at World Vision USA, with Pastors and their churches, to bring help and hope to the most vulnerable children on the planet. Why so many classes? 1. I recognize a gap between where I am and where I want to be. Education is helping me bridge the gap. 2. I am burdened by the reality that children globally continue to suffer, in part, because Pastors and leaders are wounded and need healing. I want to be part of the healing journey. 3. It's fun. I LOVE learning and growing for my sake and the sake of others. What are you working on and why?

Kudos Columbia Business School, Columbia University, and Dean Costis Maglaras on the new talent. I’m so overdue to reengage the faculty on being a visiting speaker at my alma mater as I am at several other universities. The pandemic had foiled our 2019 plans.
