Helping the C-Suite see around corners

“We need leaders who are committed to goals they don’t know how to achieve” I loved this point from john a. sweeney today on day four of the University of Houston Professional Certificate in Foresight. In the world we’re all now operating in (and will continue to) we absolutely need leaders who don’t know how to solve the problems we face, but are committed to curiosity, collaboration, and a whole lot of learning. I know quite a few organisations are in the process of rethinking or resetting their leadership development programs and approaches. Now is the time to add this to your leadership competencies, and build it into your leadership culture. #leadership #culture #foresight

and a whole lot of listening and reflection. There definitely needs to be a different spin on developing our leaders and an openness to self-reflection.

Absolutely agree! Embracing the unknown with curiosity and a commitment to learn is key for today's leaders. It's crucial for organizations to cultivate these qualities in their leadership culture for a future that's constantly evolving.

Absolutely love this Steph Clarke - certainty is killing progress towards potential futures that enable us to thrive and there is always a leader at the centre of those strategies and plans seeking their own certainty. Leaders need to be adaptive, flexible and resilient in sitting in uncertainty and ambiguity.

Really great point, it also comes up a lot in "Measure what matters" and "Good to Great". It makes a world of a difference when you're fortunate enough to have the chance to work with someone like that!

Motion supported. It reminds of Cthedral Thinking: Commit to some thing that you cannot do on your own and whose completion you may not live to see. It depends on future generations to take over the baton but we will need to start.....
