OK... so I'll be on BBC2 this Friday night. A while back, I wrote a post reflecting on how we went about rewilding our garden. Someone got in touch from Gardeners' World, and said that the story would make for a good viewer's video. I put something together a few months ago... thinking if I was lucky, it might get on the website. Then yesterday, I had an email saying that it will be shown during the show at 8pm on BBC2 this Friday night (26th July). In short, it is a story in two halves. Firstly, how we went about rewilding a garden on a new build estate which had been stripped of nature in the construction. And then secondly, and more importantly, what from this experience I believe house builders should be doing when creating new estates to make this much easier for a greater number of people. With a new government in place with significant ambitions in both the housebuilding and environmental realms, I feel from our experience here that there are some fairly intuitive and easy things that could be looked at.
