A few weeks ago, I threw out a question on LinkedIn: "Do you think having a Baseline or NV1 clearance leads to getting better contract rates?" The results are: 72% say yes, while 28% disagree. Now, let's talk about why this matters. In today's world, security is a huge deal. More and more government agencies and private companies are asking for at least baseline security clearance when they're hiring. But here's the thing - you need that clearance before you even apply. It's a bit of a tricky situation, right? Plus, there's the cost involved in finding someone to sponsor your clearance. But I've got your back. Let's discuss. Should Security Clearances be placed on your LinkedIn profile? Personally, I do not believe they should be advertised to the world because the whole world doesn't need to know. I know some say there is value added so recruiters can headhunt you, but even then I don't see it. also, on the OPSEC side of the house, it could possibly make you a target. When I first joined I was guilty of it and jumped on the train of adding mine because I was so excited and I didn't stop to think about what I was actually doing. thoughts? #securityclearance #recruiting #opsec
