Vocational training for breaking into Medical Device Sales is gaining traction. Why is that? Because when you consider how unique the role of a medical device rep is, it’s a completely logical approach. Hiring entry-level Medtech talent is entering into a world of “unkowns”. ➡️ To the candidate, the role of a med rep (despite research) remains an unkown. ➡️ To the hiring manager, the candidate (despite resume’s and interviews) remains an unkown. The decision to hire is only determined to be a good one or not, once the candidate has been deployed in the field. Equipping individuals with a foundational knowledge in the areas of clinical, technical and sales before placement into an entry-level role, benefits the aspiring med rep and the Medtech hiring manager. It's true; if you're looking to break into Medtech sales, sales experience is desirable. Even if the sales experience is minimal, it's another box for the hiring manager to tick. However, students at MDSI learn something more valuable. In addition to our clinical and technical modules, our vocational Medtech sales course includes sales training specific to medical devices.
