We are delighted to announce the extension of our partnership with EFL (English Football League) One club Leyton Orient Football Club for the 2024/25 season. Sterling Technology will be the official sleeve sponsor of the Leyton Orient Women's team. Last season, Sterling Technology was the official sleeve sponsor of the newly-promoted Leyton Orient Men's First Team as they ran a spirited campaign under head coach Richie Wellens to finish in 11th place after an eight-year absence from the division. Commenting on today's news, Sterling Technology chief strategy and marketing officer Philip Whitchelo said: "The newly promoted Orient Women have had an outstanding first season in the Greater London Premier Division, finishing in third place on equal points and just missing out on the second place spot due to goal difference. This season, we want to focus our support for the continued development of the women’s team at Leyton Orient through our sponsorship and partnership with the club. The English women’s game across all levels is rightly experiencing tremendous growth and offers increasing opportunities for young girls to develop their potential. The Orient Women have some very talented players, and the team undoubtedly has the ability to rise higher in the pyramid. There are some exciting developments planned for women’s football at Orient this season and we are looking forward to being a part of that. Up the Os!”

The creation of a strategic plan is vital to the long-term success of any organization. The best plans are: · Designed with the input of a variety of stakeholders · Make clear choices that focus efforts on what we should do not what we could do · Have easy to understand concepts so they can be applied to expected and unexpected circumstances · Are connective so stakeholders are drawn together, not sent off on their own · Ambitious so they inspire We love that we get to work with many socially conscious organizations to build these kinds of plans and proud to highlight the work we did with our client Tennis Canada who launched their new plan this past summer. Check it out here:

A year or so ago, the Singapore Golf Association took on a noble effort to establish a task force to look into how to promote and improve the golf landscape in Singapore. The task force included individuals from nearly every aspect of the game. While the fruits of its effort remain to be seen, it is probably the first time that golf in this country has seen such a comprehensive initiative in moving the game forward. For years, Singapore has had a disconnect between what (the authorities) want to achieve, and the willingness (or belief) in how to get there. It has looked high and low for coaches (and even emigrating sportspeople) for success only to fall short. It’s not impossible for small nations to have world beaters. Just look at New Zealand, Norway, and even tiny Iceland that has lit up the football world with a population of under half a million people. The solution isn’t as much how to do it, but whether a country in its entirety is willing to work together for the same goal of sporting excellence. For starters, and if the successes of smaller-but-great sporting nations are anything to go by, this is what’s needed 1. A culture of excellence and the determination to be better than the other 2. Family commitment (and time) to introduce children to sports and encouraging them to get good without the burden of results 3. A healthy system of coaching that is cooperative and focused on nation-wide improvement rather than individual success or profit 4. Local corporate support 5. Sports associations that are focused on enhancing the entire landscape and ecosystem of their sport and not solely aiming to get that one athlete or team into the international spotlight Success in the international arena takes commitment, knowledge, resources, support, and ultimately, time. Countries like Singapore should ask itself constantly if it has what it takes to walk the walk before starting to talk. https://lnkd.in/g_wb4cFD

People will remember your actions and character - not your victories. Congratulations to Spain for their victory in the Quarter Final of the European Championships. It was a thrilling match, and advancing to the next stage is a great achievement. However, amidst the celebration, there were two moments that stood out prominently during the game. Twice, a German player was down, unable to continue, and in both instances, Spain, in possession of the ball, chose not to kick it out of play. This is contrary to the unwritten code of sportsmanship that binds teams in moments of such uncertainty. Spain may go on to win the tournament, but these instances of perceived unfairness and unkindness will always linger in my memory. It's a vivid reminder that how we achieve success often carries more weight than the success itself. And this is not only true in sports, but also at work. In business, the pressure to excel, to get promoted, to hit targets, and to meet project timelines is immense. But we must remember that kindness and fairness should never be sacrificed for short-term gains. Our principles and values are what define us in the long run. It´s o.k., no it´s even necessary to be competitive. But let´s be the best not only in terms of achievements but also in how we achieve them. No matter how high the stakes are, we need to remain true to our beliefs and uphold the highest standards of integrity. Because at the end of the day, it's our actions and character that people will remember most. Anthony Carlson Bas Belfi Sander Huysmans #Integrity #BusinessEthics #Values #Leadership

📢 Discover how Barcelona lost young talents! 🌟⚽️ FC Barcelona has long been renowned for its famous youth academy, La Masía, which has produced some of the world's best players. However, there have also been cases where the club has let young promises slip away, only to find success with other teams. Let's explore some of these cases! 🔹 Dani Olmo 🇪🇸: This talented midfielder was part of Barcelona's youth academy from a young age. However, the club decided to sell him to Dinamo Zagreb in 2014 without giving him a chance to debut for the first team. Since then, Olmo has proven his worth in Croatian football and become a key player for both his club and the Spanish national team. #DaniOlmo #LostTalent 🔹 Xavi Simons 🇳🇱: Simons was considered one of the top prospects in Barcelona's youth academy. However, he chose not to renew his contract with the club and joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. Despite his young age, he has shown great potential and is expected to have a bright future in European football. #XaviSimons #LostPromise 🔹 Álex Grimaldo 🇪🇸: Grimaldo developed in Barcelona's youth academy and was regarded as one of the best young left-backs. However, the club didn't give him enough opportunities in the first team and sold him to Benfica in 2016. Since then, he has established himself as one of the top left-backs in Portugal. #ÁlexGrimaldo #MissedOpportunities These cases are examples of poor management by Barcelona, as they let go of young talents with tremendous potential. While it's understandable that the club faces fierce competition in every position, it's crucial to provide opportunities for young players and allow them to develop in the first team. Barcelona has learned from these experiences and implemented changes in their youth development approach to retain their young talents. However, these examples serve as a reminder of the importance of nurturing and supporting future talents from an early age, to avoid losing them along the path to success. Do you have more examples? Write me in the comments 👇🏼 #LaMasía #YoungTalent #MissedOpportunities #FCBarcelona #Football ⚽️🔵🔴

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. On my Adavanced Youth Award the renowned Barcelona B Coach, Albert Capellas, asked a profound question to us all. 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐 𝑰 𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒆? The answer ↓ ➠ 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 This was a ground-breaking question from a coach whose player development experiences included legends of the game in Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. 𝘐𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘴... "𝐈𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥." As coaches we have the tendancy to want to say something at every point, coach every mistake, control every movement. The truth is, w̳e̳ ̳d̳o̳n̳'̳t̳ ̳k̳n̳o̳w̳ ̳e̳v̳e̳r̳y̳t̳h̳i̳n̳g̳. This is where the benefit of silence comes in: 1. Your players grow in knowing you trust their decisions 2. You learn more about the player who is in front of you 3. You learn more about how the game can be played 4. Your players become more confident on the pitch 5. You are surprised by how they problem solve

Do you know who Dick Fosbury was? (No tittering in the back there). I actually did, and I was interested to note his obituary in the Telegraph just over 6 months ago, because I didn't realise his impact on his field of expertise. I shall explain. Dick Fosbury was a high jumper who practically transformed the sport of high jumping overnight with his technique which became known as the Fosbury Flop. Every school child who was taught athletics will have started with the scissors kick, and then once you go over about 1.20m, you had to evolve to the Fosbury Flop. Whilst moonlighting from discus throwing where my dad was a NI national coach, I did a bit of high jumping and was beseeched by the legendary Maeve Kyle to grab that imaginary bag of gold which was apparently hanging just in front of and above the bar. This apparently gave one the lift required to segue into the Fosbury Flop. I tended to miss the gold, but collect the bar. Anyway, my point is this. Fosbury won gold in the 1968 Mexico Olympics with his unique technique. At the next Olympics in 1972, 28 out of 40 competitors were using the Fosbury Flop. The current world record by Sotomayor of 2.45m was achieved using the Fosbury Flop. Overnight, one person changed an entire sporting event forever. It's happened in other arenas too, and when I see this sort of transformation, it does give me hope that I can make a similar impact with how people experience the house moving process in Northern Ireland. I'm currently re-rewriting not just our online fee quote system, but I'm breaking down the whole journey of how the potential client becomes an actual client, and I think I have a fairly unique and innovative system - on paper. What I do know is that people looked at Dick Fosbury and thought he was a lunatic whose technique would encourage high jumpers to break their necks. They were wrong. So too must all of us who want to change our industries ignore the naysayers, and reach for that bag of gold. We also learnt the Western Roll just for the craic. #innovation #legaltech #movinghouse #northernireland #conveyancing https://lnkd.in/eXDrhy_i
