Transportation is important to businesses, community, and our economy! It was great to hear that the DMVMoves Task Force assessed transit funding scenarios this week that were elevated to the group after extensive discussions and meetings with DMVMoves Government and Community Partners Advisory Groups, comprising area government, business, and civic leaders, as well as transit providers. Four scenarios were presented to the full body, ranging from maintaining current service levels and maintenance programs to implementing transformative changes with modernized trains, buses, and infrastructure, revolutionizing transit for the region for generations to come. State Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator at Colorado Department of Transportation
Colorado Department of Transportation is updating its Statewide Active Transportation Plan and we need YOUR input! CDOT has released a new survey to help inform the goals and priorities of the forthcoming Statewide Active Transportation Plan. This new plan sets the stage for enhancing biking and walking throughout Colorado and embraces statewide momentum around active transportation investment. The Plan will include goals, policy recommendations, interagency collaboration, and a comprehensive process for evaluating and prioritizing projects which will improve safety, equity, mobility, connectivity, and sustainability across our transportation system. The Active Transportation Plan will also inform the Statewide Transportation Plan, which guides Colorado’s overall transportation vision and investment priorities. The survey should take about 5-10 minutes and asks about walking and bicycling habits, preferred pedestrian and bicycling facilities, and barriers to walking and biking. PennDOT has received a $1.3 million SMART grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to pilot innovative Freight Signal Priority (FSP) technology in central PA! This cutting-edge system uses GPS data to adjust traffic signals for trucks, reducing congestion, cutting emissions, and keeping goods moving faster. Pilot locations: 📍 Cameron Street, Harrisburg 📍 Harrisburg Pike ("Miracle Mile"), Cumberland County By easing supply chain delays and improving air quality, this initiative is a win for our economy and environment.
