Personal protection training is more mental than physical. Learning to control your mind is the key to knowing how to keep yourself from freezing in the face of danger; how to avoid losing control of your mind; and just as importantly, how to exploit this predictable weakness in an adversary. No matter who you are or what your background is, you can learn techniques to recognize danger, avoid trouble, or ward off the predators of the modern world. You don’t have to be bigger or stronger than anyone to effect this outcome. Most of the time, you don’t even have to be a better fighter. You simply have to be willing to protect yourself, willing to control your fear and turn it against your attacker, and willing to accept that personal security is a fundamental human need, but ultimately an individual responsibility. It’s never too late to start training.

Its always good to use pictures from recent work to enhance your current training or CPD. This is just one snap shot of how we use evidence collated from work to provide examples in fire safety courses and CPD to provide knowledge and understanding before applying skills. Do not always dwell on the bad!! Please ensure you also show people what good looks like so they have a more complete understanding.

Sorry for the rant!!! If you deliver Security Training , specifically PI Training, check your facts before commenting on Physical Skills Training that is outside of the DS / CP Physical Intervention Training: 1) SIA are not a Governing Body for Use of Force / Physical Intervention / Control & Restraint / Handcuffing Training. There is NO Governing Body for this !!!! 2) The SIA cannot dictate what Physical skills / Tactics security operatives use in a real situation, it will come back to was it Necessary, Proportionate, Justified 3) There is no such thing as " SIA Approved Training" If you are teaching to your students or believe the opposite of this, then please stop teaching, you are not a trainer, you are what's wrong with Training in this Industry. Rant Over!!!! 🤬🤬🤣
